The Derby´s still one of the best
    And special every time,
    And overshadows all the rest
    A twice year pantomime,
    Forty miles between the two
    Yet this Sunday, as one,
Carrow Road will be part blue
    Hoping to see some fun,
    Irrespective of how well
Each of us may have fared,
Form may not have much to tell
    When local teeth are bared

Ipswich just do have the call
    In competitive games,
One hundred and six, in all
They´re two up in the frame,
But on our patch, Carrow Road
We lead them well, by six,
Hard to tell what that will bode
When things get in the mix,
    They topped around Christmastide
    When win followed on win,
But of late have shown a slide
    Is their squad looking thin?

    Quite the opposite, since Neil
Took charge of our hot seat,
    He´s added belief and steel
    From eight, just one defeat,
    So it´s clear, momentum-wise
Just who holds all the trumps,
But we´ll still need wary eyes
So´s not to end like chumps,
    Only one point separates
    Us in the table too,
Although for both, one game awaits
    Before this weekend´s do

Once that is out of the way
    The tension´s sure to build,
Each half hoping in the fray
    Their prayers can be fulfilled,
    Those of us not fortunate
    Enough to have seats there,
Must keep ourselves up to date
    From our TV armchair,
    East Anglian rivalry
Is so fierce, so it´s said,
    That only one other ´Derby´
Is more so, so I´ve read

    That´s in the Black Countryside
Where Wolves take on West Brom,
    So McCarthy Mick won´t hide
    Should A. Neil ooze aplomb,
    Heroes there will always be
And have been, on both sides,
Those who relish such a spree
    That forty miles divides,
But this one first and foremost
Is for the fans, and pride,
It´s only three points at the post
But tell that to the winning side. OTBC

Well done RBF, you've captured the atmosphere perfectly! Many a slip 'twixt cup and lip, but please God, not just yet!

    Evening NORKIE, how are you
Not heard from you of late,
As always thanks for your view
    And without tempting fate,
I´d say this weekend should be
    One to remember long,
    If the momentum that we
    Now have, remains on song,
And thanks Dave and JR too
    Both followers of verse,
    Hopefully it will come true
That Town are left to curse. :)

Hi skald bor, been away on holiday where the sun shines. I'm ok thanks, a bit older but no wiser LOL. I rate this effort your best to date. Sums up the situation perfectly. . . as I cheekily said, could not have expressed better myself LOL.

Not wishing to tempt the Fates, but feel we have turned the corner to achieve our aim: promotion. Pity we lost ground under NA, he let his personal feelings come before his job as manager, should have dealt with Bassong more professionally.

AN has now settled into the position well, after having to sum up his playing staff, was a bit concerned when he put Whittaker into midfield, 99.9 per cent of fans would have said that was a no-no, the other 0.1 per cent being undecided. Like his latest statement when he said he was adjusting strategy to overcome opponents. Means other teams don't have a clue what team will be opposing them.

Judging by remarks made by our country cousins, can understand their concern this coming Sunday, never good to meet a team performing well but we have to bear in mind that this is a local derby and nothing is guaranteed when our two teams clash. Considering both teams are well positioned in the league, this should be the game of the century with so much at stake.

Keep up the good work and regards to the King, no, not Elvis.

Thankfully we got that one out of the way, with no real trembles, now we can concentrate on Sunday :)
