I have seen on a couple of recent threads speculation as to who needs to be moved on in the Summer. I am not a misty eyed romantic and recognise a squad is organic and needs to change every season if your team is to be successful. But could we respect the work that every member of the squad has put in these season and leave such speculation until after the last match of the season. Collectively they have exceeded all our pre-season expectations and they deserve our gratitude for that. I very much doubt they read this forum but why knock any of them at this stage of a fantastic season.
I believe that any of the players of our team could be called upon for the Man City game and do a good job and make us proud if we play like we did against Tottenham. I think we could field exactly the same squad next year and stay up, but this won't be the case.
Yes, well said indeed. Every single member of our squad has played some part in our rise from bottom of League One to top half of the Premier League. We should take a leaf from Paul Lambert's book and give all the players the respect they all deserve. As I said on one of the threads in question, PL doesn't ever think in terms of "dead wood" that needs "clearing out"; he sees a group of players who can achieve even greater success and self-fulfillment if they are given a "little bit of extra help" in the shape of a new face or two. They are all "our" lads and deserve better than to be written off as "not good enough" by any of us fans.
haha well I may spare a drop, however be warned it comes with serious side effects: Super human strength A hatred for teams that play in Blue Immortality
