A totally different look and forgive me for saying it doesn't look quite as good as I expected. I know there is still major other work to be completed but the join between the new east end and the Williams looks a bit manky and not so bad on the Dolman side. I have to confess that most of these types of stadium upgrades usually look like they were designed by fools during the long process but I'm sure that the final and totally finished look will be a thing of beauty.

Mike - Its very early days yet, and bear in mind that when the South Stand is complete, the Granstand (Williams) will be torn down to be replaced by a massive stand, so maybe thats why the bit between the 2 stands looks a bit rubbish now

I appreciate that it is not even close to the finished article but in it's current state it looks weird.

What you actually mea is that the new stand puts the rest of the stadium to shame.....

Dont worry, I'm sure a lot of us feel the same

Seeing it from ground level looks weirder, but once people are allowed into the new stand the Williams will be knocked down.

The Williams stand is going to be huge compared to the other stands I believe. As there won't be a great improvement on actual seating from the old Eastend to the new South Stand.

The bit behind the dolman is I believe to be exits and the roof will match.

I've hated looking at the ground this season with what has looked like some of those tin pot grounds from the 80's. And next year for my view will be even worse when the Williams is ripped down. So I will be looking at a hole in the ground for months till they start erecting it.

But I think once it's done it will all be worth it <ok>

Its coming on great, going to be a superb stadium & big enough for a decent prem side...to many couch patatoes in Bristol for there to be any need for a bigger one.

In the early days I read something about some of the seats being blue. What is latest on this and the reasoning for it?

The blue was for the bleeding egg chasers who IMHO have no place at our home

Kick the Rovers out of the Mem and take your stupidly shaped ball and anorak brigade there instead.

    Why?

It's shown this season that it don't effect the pitch plus it's income for the ground for a more sustainable future. Commented to my wife today the only parts of the ground showing wear was the goal mouth. So top marks to the groundsmen.

Would be nice if they changed to red but if you spoke to city fans who also follow Bristol rugby they would prefer them to stay in blue. Anyway they've had a year now, they should be used to sitting on red seats, but as far as I was aware they've already announced the seats are going to be red.

    Just my opinion

I don't like, or follow rugby and to me Ashton Gate is a football stadium and always will be

Yes, I would go along with that

Have to say, that from the air it looks well impressive.
I haven't had the pleasure of seeing too many matches at AG during the past 2 years, and that huge stand rising from the East end is quite a sight

    Fair point <ok>

I don't follow club rugby, but the opposit in international as I dont follow Wales in football but do in Rugby. Watching city yesterday and also watching the bbc site yesterday constantly updating it for the Wales v Ireland game was not the easiest thing <laugh>

I just like the fact that the stadium is being used and generating money, wouldn't surprise me if the sags suffer financially losing the rugby so to take it from them is even sweeter.

Bit of a wind up merchant aren't you! there has at no point ever been any inference from Bristol Sport / City etc that there will be Blue seats!

If I'm wrong, find it and put up the link!

I do, good on him, was he in a balloon ? good shots and interesting to see a plan view from above with real boundaries marked out, I was surprised to see how much of a grass area there was behind the Dolman in the flats!

Would you like a statue of Ian Holloway outside the ground?
