Right... Enough is enough with Rafa in charge and a petition has been created to try and get rid of him and really show what the fans think. Please sign it and pass it around to other Chelsea fans. If a fair few thousand signed it then maybe the club will realise how we feel if they don't know already! https://www.change.org/petitions/ch...ez-is-not-considered-beyond-his-interim-title
To be honest I dont think Roman gives a sh!t. The only way the fans will get him to do anything is if they stop going to matches and buying merchandise, and hit them where it hurts. If people are still spending money on the club, I honestly dont think Roman will care if they boo, sign a petition or do the Macarena naked in the snow.
Sacking Rafa is the best way to completely ruin the clubs reputation (which isn't much now anyway). I despise him - I tried and tried to support him, but I can't. To me, he is a huge step backwards from RDM, who was only sacked through personal gripe more than anything else, but until the end of the season, we can manage. Not worth descending lower than we already have.
I have always thought that even the best manager can do nothing without all the players behind them. This is one of a manager's main tasks, but also the players too have an obligation to make this work. What I see are managers who are poor at man management who have an even worse time as players, on the whole, tend to be prima donnas, spurred on by mercenary agents. Commitment can easily compensate for errors in tactics or on pitch skills. What we have at Chelsea is a temporary manager, a divided team, a hodge podge coaching staff, divided fans, and no common vision of the future. The players in particular seem to be running several agendas at once. Due to the talent and skill of our staff and management we are still a good club, but consistency and top performances will be lacking till leadership at all strata within the club share a common goal.
So far... in 21 hours... 1225 Chelsea fans have signed the petition. If you haven't then do so now. We don't want Rafa at the helm past this season. Spread this and sign it!
Again BB, Im not really in disagreement with you on the main point, but when did you ever know Roman to not do exactly what the hell he wanted regardless of the fans opinion (sacking Mourinho, Ancelotti, RDM, buying Shevchenko and Torres). Roman will do what Roman will do and I honestly think even 1000 petitions would have no affect on what he ultimately decides he wants to do
It may not have a huge affect but the club will notice it if it got to say 10,000 signatures! If it did it would get published in newspapers etc. People are retweeting it on twitter. It may not have an affect but it's just another way of us fans trying to make a point. Can't blame us for trying. I know Roman is the main man here but a club without supporters isn't a true club.
I think Roman knows we hate him - is he going to sack him 3/4 of the way through a season for it? No. End of.
Who has said they hate Roman? I don't. I love him. I think he's mustard! I just wished he would leave the football people to do football business and he would run the money side of things. That's after all what he's good at. I wouldn't exactly expect to see him don a shirt and boots and give himself a runaround on the pitch!
Super_Chelsea_Blue_Boys - I think Varier was saying that ROman know we hate Rafa (rather than we hate Roman). I dont want Rafa here but, there is not point in changing again until the end of the season - who would come now & why? Also, when Rafa is let go (please let Interim mean Interim), I would not like to see a Chelsea hero come to manage right now. There was a snifter about Zola - could you imagine if he came, didn't win everything and then was cast aside like the rest??? That really would be a disaster. If someone like Zola was involved at the club (youth, assistant etc.) maybe, but not as No1. Like everyone has said, we really do have a lot to be grateful to Mr A for, but at some point, he just has to let a manager manage, and not sack them at the drop of a point. We need consistency through from the very youngest at the club, through to the most senior & experienced. That will only ever be achieved if the right person is brought in and left to do their job over the long-term. We've just got to hope that Roman does not believe that Rafa is the man for that job!
This petition was mentioned in the press conference just now to Benitez... Seems it is taking off. Also it has made the Mail Online. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ans-plead-Roman-Abramovich-ditch-manager.html
Given the mixed bag of results so far, the fans' reaction and the fact he's only an interim, does anyone really expect him to be here next year? Unless he gets top 4 and a trophy or two (which seems unlikely), I'm sure he'll be moved on. A petition won't change anything and to a point that is right. If he performs well, he should keep his job. But bringing in the special one is the only way to fully unite the club again and get us moving in the right direction.
He said the usual garbage. 'If the team keeps winning then I will get the fans on my side'. The thing is Rafa.. that may happen... but you have to start winning! Losing to QPR at home. Losing to Swansea at home. Blowing a 2 goal lead to draw with Southampton at home. Showing no desire in the second leg of the League cup and going out with a whimper. Drawing away at Brentford with many first team players. Bringing on a right back for a right back with 10 mins to go when 2-1 down.... Fans can criticise us for this petition and all but the fans are a pivotal part of the club. Roman may not listen to it but at least everyone else will.
I think he would have been given the job full time had he done well, but it's not going happen unless he really turns it round.
