The maynard/Heskey will they come won't they come saga has been going on for quite a while now and I honestlt don't think that we will get either ( I really really hope that I am proved wrong). So in light of this is there anybody that you would really like to see in a Foxes shirt for the new season that you feel would give us a credible front line to fire us to the Premiership? Discuss.
Quality striker and winger with a decent winger to sit on the bench. Maybe Schlupp could be that benched winger but we'll see. Schmeichel Peltier/Pantsil Tunch/Bamba/Mills/SSL Konch/Ball Danns/Wellens/King/Abe/Oakley Gallagher/Routledge/Schlupp/Vassell Nugent/Yakubu/Waghorn What a squad that would be.
Charlie Austin, Matt Fryatt, Danny Cadamatri, Dean Windass - dont have a go at me, Foxeskeepthefaith started the ridiculous suggestions with Billy 'Useless' Sharp!!
Yakubu is the obvious other option, and as the transfer window gets closer to the end, he will haveto realise its us or another season of dissapointment (and pies) at Everton. ... .... ... Lionel Messi ... ..... .... i'll get my coat ... ....
Andy - NOOOOO! We'd be better off with Billy Whizz. Or Billy Bunter. Sharp would not get us the goals to fire a promotion charge. I reckon we should give that young lad Steve Oakley a go, after all he scored 4 last night - and he's got an uncanny resemblance to another guy with initials SH - no, not me, Steve Howard!!
What exactly is wrong with Sharp? Scored roughly a goal every other game for Doncaster in the league over the past two seasons, a team that doesn't create an awful lot of chances.
My maths is awful..its more like a goal in three games. 15 a season isn't bad in a relegation threatened team though. I'd expect him to get 20 given more chances to score..
I'd say we need someone like kevin phillips. Was disappointed that we weren't in the frame for him, especially on a free. Maybe we should go for freddy macheda on loan. long shot but would be great addition.
Phillips has signed for Blackpool and we was linked with him at one stage, I dont want Macheda, Man U fans dont rate him from what i have heard, they rate Danny Welbeck alot higher. One player i have always liked is Carlos Vela from Arsenal, everytime i have seen him he has scored a goal
I feel macheda and vela might be a bit out of our reach. The reason they're on loan from their respective clubs is too gain experience. They both played in top divisions last year, Vela as west brom, and macheda somewhere in Italy. I don't see them being sent to a lower league for experience by man u or arsenal if they could go to another top flight team this year. I hope I'm wrong though, particulary with respect to vela. How about ebanks-blake?
The fact that Phillips joined blackpool was exactly why I was disappointed we didnt get him. In the case of macheda, yh I did say it was a long shot, but I wouldn't be suprised if our business for a striker was now in the loan market. If we fail with maynard and yak then there are not a hole lot of names I can think of that we have a chance of getting.
Maynard>Yakubu>Sharp>Heskey>Ebanks-Blake>Evans> But to be quite honest with you I'd be disappointed if we didn't get Maynard, I think the rest would be a step down at face value, and it's been going on so long so surely there's still a chance.
i would be very very surprised if one of yeakubu, maynard or heskey was not signed up before the cov game. point is we dont need heskey unless howard leaves, we need a goalscorer and either maynard or ykubu would be great signings
