That's probably about ad negative as you can get. We don't know who's gonna come in or leave, or what will happen over the course of the season. Stoke didn't sign anybody spectacular and they've gone from strength to strength. We also signed Bullard is January, not Summer 2009.
Lazy writing. It's happened before so it'll happen again. Steve Bruce, 2nd season, Europa league. Those things combined have always led to teams being relegated. Except for the times when they haven't. I hate lazy ****ing writing like this. Even more so when the **** responsible is getting paid for it.
Click on the bit about premier league relegation odds and theres a dead accurate article about how norwich star man robert snodgrass is nailed on for a move to celtic.
Ladbrokes probably don't think we'll go down, that's why they've written this article. Love the last sentence, it's as if the first game determines our entire season.
Totally lazy journalism by somone who hasn't got a clue about what they are talking about. It's easy to make vast assumptions looking in from a far in a London based office but if they did some homework they would find that things are vastly different and incomparable to how massing unprepared we where last time. To be fair though I don't mind the negative press and lack of expectations because it is less pressure and big fingers up to the idiots who doubt us.
SSN "What they need" thread yesterday said that we were almost certainly signing Shola Ameobi!!! HULL CITY WHAT THEY NEED With Robert Snodgrass and Jake Livermore (now permanently signed) already through the door, Steve Bruce probably requires only a central defender and full-back for him to consider his summer business complete, and he will be wary of making wholesale changes to a content squad. The chance to sign a third forward would not be spurned, however, with Matty Fryatt already out of the door, especially with a Europa League campaign to deal with. WHAT THEY’LL PROBABLY GET Shola Ameobi is expected to join, almost the dictionary definition of that 'third forward', while Thomas Ince's arrival from Blackpool will fail to seem good value if Hull City are forced to stump up £8million in compensation. Michael Dawson and Costa Rican Cristian Gamboa are two rather contrasting defensive names that have also been mentioned in more than passing. Hull just seem to have the handy knack of opting for the sensible over the sensational. WHAT’S BEEN SAID "I am delighted to be joining Hull City on a permanent basis. I thoroughly enjoyed my season here on loan and I firmly believe that this club will keep on going from strength to strength. I made my feelings known that I wanted to come here permanently" - Jake Livermore, 25th June. http://www1.skysports.com/transfer/news/21476/9384973/transfers-e-m-who-needs-what
Their examples to back up the argument are ancient. Do we think that a betting company is perhaps trying to encourage people to bet on City going down when they really don't think they will, thus making money?
Burnley head into the new season as the runaway favourite for relegation from the Premier League but with odds of 3/5 offered through Ladbrokes, those seeking a bet with a bit more value could do worse than back Hull City to fall through the trap door. Priced at a distant 16/5 to go down next term, there will be some pointing to the signings of Robert Snodgrass and Tom Ince as evidence that the Tigers will have more than enough attacking bite for the season ahead yet, as so many before them can attest, that may not be enough. Fresh from successfully navigating that tricky first season in the Premier League, Hull will be all too aware of the danger of the dreaded âsecond season syndromeâ because they have already experienced it for themselves. Favourites to go down in 2008/09 a battling Hull side defied the critics to avoid the drop, with Newcastle United going down in their place. But despite a summer of big signings that included £5m on Jimmy Bullard, Hull barely got going the following year with manager Phil Brown dismissed midway through the campaign and relegation confirmed by May 3rd. And it could be a similar story for Steve Bruce â a man with previous for premature departures as fans of Sheffield United, Huddersfield Town, Crystal Palace and Wigan Athletic will attest. Sunderland should have been added to that list, but a famous 3-0 win over Chelsea helped pull the wool over many peopleâs eyes during the final six months of Bruceâs spell in charge, during which the Black Cats racked up only a couple of wins. The reality is that a similar story may already be being played out at Hull with the Tigers winning just three of their final 13 Premier League fixtures last term with the bleak nature of that poor run only compensated by an appearance in the FA Cup final and the fact the team had already racked up just enough points to be safe from the drop. Bruce and Hull may not be so lucky this term though, with the Tigers set to compete in the Europa League â something that has proven the undoing of many a team facing a second season in the Premier League. Ipswich Town are the most obvious example, going from fifth place in 2001 to a relegation battle the following season that saw them stretched even further by UEFA Cup games. Nikica Jelavic and Shane Long may have arrived in January and delivered the goals needed to keep the team in the division but the truth is that neither has found the net consistently during their Premier League careers â hence their respective departures from Everton and West Brom. With Hull starting the season away at Queens Park Rangers, defeat there could spell disaster for the campaign to come. http://news.ladbrokes.com/en-gb/foo...mier-league-hell-short-term-bruce_204597.html A poorly written piece that's all over the place. I get the impression this Jack Beresford doesn't like us or Brucie.
bullard signed in january 2010, not summer 2009 brown was sacked around march time 2010 for a start and he wasn't sacked from sheff united, crystal palace or wigan, is he hinting bruce will resign at city?
The majority of this is lazily written dogshit but "Favourites to go down in 2008/09 a battling Hull side defied the critics to avoid the drop, with Newcastle United going down in their place". WTF?!?!?! What a ****wit.
Like I said on other thread, this is a bookies trying to lure you into a bad bet. If they really thought we were going down would they really make it sound as I fits already done? They'd be trying to divert money elsewhere.
