Give this guy a big pat on the back. http://metro.co.uk/2013/11/13/south...d-tottenham-can-keep-their-hands-off-4184739/
What makes me laugh is that there were links embedded in that article to the stories about Adam to Liverpool and Luke to Spurs. Do they really think anyone believes any of the crap they come up with? Anyway, hope you're feeling better Godders, thanks for the read.
The Metro is a place for people to air their views, so no great surprise that contradictory articles are published. The author has a view I share...the players at Southampton would not see Liverpool and Spurs as particularly tempting as long as we remain on our trajectory. They are on cloud nine at the moment and feel that Southampton are special...many other clubs will just feel like jobs to them. A sign of this is that no one has voluntarily left Saints since Oxo.
This has really upset alot of Pool and Spurs fans, LOVE IT. The people that have responded have kind of missed the point and just got upset because thier clubs have been put together with little old us. I believe both clubs have won the league cup once in the last 7 years and thats it, a far cry from Utd, City, Arse and Chelsea. They must realise that Pool and Spurs are very firmly in the second group in English football, hoping to nick 4th position but in reality finishing in 5th to 8th place. Pool have a proud past, Spurs not so much, yet what happened 30 or even 40 years ago count for nothing when upstarts like us are willing to trade punches on an equel footing. CL league football is where the best teams play, and neither of these clubs belong there yet
Felt a little bit like "trolling" in all honesty. Yes, point out how stupid these made up stories are, but I would have drawn the line at the obvious baiting going on about "sideways moves" and "not big clubs".......
The writer may be trolling, but I'm not. I think we are at the level of Spurs and Everton and perhaps a bit below Liverpool, but we are climbing. Although we may be a bit higher than we will finish, I can see no reason why our stars would switch to any of these teams at the moment.
