That is extremely scary. That amount of money in that amount of time.
I got the impression he always thought he was better than he was. Like he says needed hitting over the head with a hammer and applying himself more to the extremely fortunate position he had.
I always thought he had the talent but lacked the application needed to be a top class player. Good to see he thinks the same and I hope he does get in a position to pass on some of his experience to a new generation so they don't make the same mistakes.
He played 28 times for us and scored eight goals and was our top scorer in the season we had him on loan. Bit better than ‘one in ten games’ don’t you think?
Aye, I suppose he was really! But bloody infuriating. One day bullying Vincent Kompany, the next fannying about like a kid.
Think the article has the answer though. He needed a really tough manager for a decent length of time. Instead, he had a busy Wenger and a succession of loan club managers.
