I found this buried in the LFC website, such is the slowness it has exhibited lately... John barnes with the masters team gave some words of wisdom.

    I quote:

Both the club and the supporters are going to need to be patient while things develop - because if it was an easy quick fix, everyone would be doing it, wouldn't they?

There needs to be a lot of patience - both in the boardrooms and in the stands. How long will it take? It will take a long time but it won't take as long as Liverpool fans have been waiting to see the team win the Premier League. So, yes it could take a long time to develop it and start reaping the benefits from it but maybe if a system was put in place 20 years ago, we wouldn't still be waiting to win our first title since 1990. If we keep changing the manager, the players or the system every one, two, three or four years, we could be waiting another 20 years to win the title too.

Patience is not something a lot of the 'I want it now' generation seem to have though...

You need to ask these fans to support the club. There's a clue in the word supporter - that's what you do, you offer support to the club. If the Liverpool fans in 2005 didn't offer support to the team at half-time when we were 3-nil down, then Liverpool would not have won the Champions League. The fans could easily have turned their backs on the team and booed the players because they were losing 3-nil but if they had of done that, Liverpool would not have come back. It was the same in the semi-final of the FA Cup against Everton. One-nil down at half-time and not playing well but the fans supported the team and look what happened.

So if you do implement a plan and there are times when things are not going well, think about how much the club needs your support and what unconditional support can actually achieve. I understand fans frustrations but if everyone is giving 100% and everyone is trying their best, then you need to be patient and you need to support them through thick and thin.

If things don't go well instantly, the media can quickly turn...

The media exist to sell newspapers and, of course, negativity sells, especially in England, so the media have no role whatsoever to play in Liverpool's success. It's down to the fans and the club to stick together.

    ................................

I think we would all do well to listen to the guy http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/barnes-on-lfc-barca-future

I'm not so sure about a lot of things but we just have to wait and see, its not like we can do much else or affect things by stressing out is there?

The Barnes interview was a good read(a little long and repetitive perhaps), the more I hear Barnes speak the more respect I have for him. Talks a lot of sense and seems to be very self assured never getting influenced by others opinions or leading questions. Said the other week I would love to see him employed as a coach in some capacity, after this interview I also think he could work in the PR department too, cracking guy!

So exactly which plan are we to be patient with?? FSGs plan A, plan B or plan Z?? As it happens I often disagree with SoS but having read their letter they share the same concerns as quite a few people I know and quite a few on here. No harm in asking for a few answers as long as those answers from the owners are given honestly and accurately is there?

Its a shame the owners couldn't have exercised the levels of patience we are being urged to show <ok>

If FSG were asked to justify every decision or rumour that comes from papers or twitter, they wouldn't get any work done. I do like FSG because they don't make everything public which what us fans were complaining about when H&G were in control.

When FSG have any real news, they will tell us.

This isn't just about "any" rumour though is it? This is about what their plans are for LFC. If they have a fabulous long term plan we'll all be happy <ok> the fact is nobody knows what this plan is. They've had 18 months to look at the stadium issues for instance. I for one would like to know where we are at with it. If they are still undecided then fine but just a reason why would be nice. Will there be squad investment or not etc etc. Nobodys asking them to respond to every single rumour but having just sacked the man they gave a contrtact to 12 months ago it would be reasonable to tell people why and what happens next.

They sacked Kenny because he didn't get top four right? Not acceptable right? So what have they got in place to help whoever comes in next?

Its all very well to say we want things done behind closed doors. I have no problem with that...but why sack the fella who was probably the best at doing exactly that?

I agree that the stadium issue is taking the piss now, but I did read an article last night from the Times or Guardian that the owners have made some progress on the redevelopment of Anfield. I'll try and dig out the article. They are also trying to find a naming partner for the new stadium which I understand isn't a quick process but I thought it would have been done by now.

I believe Ian Ayre said that they will be splitting Damien Commolli's role therefore providing the new manager with more help by relieving the pressure on his shoulders.

Oh, he's talking to the fans. I thought he was trying to explain to FSG and the media why it's impatient to sack a manager after he got the form of 2nd on his return, brought through some youngsters who shone, spent more time in the opponent's half getting more corners, more shots and more woodwork hits than is normal or even believable (more telling stats than "came 8th for the first time since blah blah blah"), worked on Andy Carroll so the media noise went from "waste of money" to "pick him for England", united the club like no other man could and has done more for the club and community than anybody else and surely deserved his three year contract to be honoured as much as he deserves a knighthood.

My mistake. I guess that's what I get for being too impatient.
