    a leap in faith is how the football league described argyle's release from administration. even the new owner james brent described his chances as 1 in 10. watch this space

    It is very interesting how petrified the League are about not appearing to put clubs out of business. The problem with this is they do not apply their own regulations (such as the fit and proper persons test) and in the end that will do more harm than good. They do not even know who the owners of some clubs are or where they get their money from. Remember Barnet under Flashman and Fry years ago who broke every financial rule in the book but escaped with their league status intact or Notts County more recently who won League 2 but drove a coach and horses through the wages to turnover ratio rule. Clubs like ours that are prudently run (perhaps too prudently at the moment) are at a disadvantage unless the League suddenly discover the 'cojones' to apply their own rules.
