(20 of the very best Canaries)
Who can forget a certain GRANT HOLT
He certainly gave defenders a jolt
And then KEVIN KEELAN , nicknamed "the cat"
In goal a magician and top acrobat
No better defender have I ever seen
Than one ADAM DRURY, a manager's dream
And talking of dreams, one night, years ago
Leg one of a match-up, v a German foe
Bayern the mighty, were given a shock
By minions, as Norfolk went totally amok
And one who was there was JEREMY "van"
GOSS by name, and a heroic man
All of them there on that brilliant night
Helped lift NCFC to unprecedented height
But back to the job in hand and a look
At several great midfielders, all on our book
To start, one of England's great '66 stars
Enter MARTIN PETERS who just oozed with class
Another who weaved so much artistry
Was one IAN CROOK, who stole it for me
MARTIN O'NEIL, with heart on his sleeve
Was one who would die for the cause I believe
And so to an Irishman, in stature small
But WES HOOLAHAN was magic with the ball
Talented wingers, we've had quite a few
And DARREN HUCKERBY was first in the queue
Followed by DALE "flash"GORDON, when warm
He was able to take any match by storm
And now to one more who could cause a fright
MICK CHANNON who I loved to follow in flight
From north of the border we've also had some
Not least of whom, "big dunc" was one
For those unfamiliar, his eyes were blue
And at 6 ft 2 DUNCAN FORBES turned the screw
Also from Scotland, who filled in some holes
Was wee ROBERT FLECK,who scored fabulous goals
Two more strikers do just spring to mind
In stature and type, two of a kind
First TED MACDOUGALL, a goal-scoring machine
And one of the most lethal finishers there's been
Next, but not least, with that toothless grin
One IWAN ROBERTS who knew how to win
And finally five who I couldn't leave out
Stalwarts all, without any doubt
First IAN CULVERHOUSE, right-back by trade
And one of the best who has ever been made
Next, DAVE WATSON , a big number five
Most notable for his fight and his drive
Goalkeeper two, in this carousel
Is one ROBERT GREEN who defended us well
Only two left, in this brief resume
Of great players who, have all come our way
First KEVIN DRINKELL, a strikers so rare
With a nose for goal, and great in the air
And finally a winger and midfielder type
Who had a left foot that lived up to the hype
It's GRAHAM PADDON, should you be in doubt
Sadly, like some here , no longer about
No doubt there are many more who, some might feel
Deserved a place, and have got a raw deal
But that only proves that during all the years
Good players have traversed the Carrow Road stairs.

Merry Christmas all, and a hopefully much better New Year
