A Heartfelt Wish for 2013......

The 'Post of the Year' thread got me thinking.....

Our Board is the best - Period !! And I love the considered and generally good natured and considered debates that we regularly have. Our Mods are the best and we even seem to attract more visitors, seeking (generally) good-humoured exchanges. However...... in the last couple of months - and for the first time on this board - I considered signing off.

Now I totally accept that this board is about opinions - different views and thoughts on subjects - mostly, but not exclusively about our beloved Spurs. But recently this changed, with a bizarre and persistent ranting that descended into personal abuse aimed at fellow Spurs fans.

Now, I know that this was met with a pretty consistent response, but I found the persistence of it totally negative. Maybe almost amusing at first, but gradually more and more irritating to the point that I almost couldn't face logging in. Maybe an overreaction, but that's how I felt.

So - my wish for 2013? A move back to the diverse, but inclusive debates that sets our board apart from others and a rejection of the vitriolic and personal attacks that have blighted the last few weeks (at least for me).

You should try dealing with some of the ****s we get on the Arsenal board

I know what your are saying Relayer and like you, I will not mention any names but be assured we have taken action very recently in an effort to prevent this happening again.

All posters should be aware that this board is free for you to express your opinions and feelings from whatever direction they come and it is the mods intention that it continues in this way. We will however protect all posters from personal abuse in whatever form, good natured banter excluded.

As PNP has said on another thread this board is easy to moderate because we have few issues to deal with and that is down to the posters on here. The quality of debate and banter attracts those who appreciate it and repels the ignorant

Many of you will be slightly mystified by Relayers OP and that's good because it shows we were able to deal with it without destroying the continuity of the board. I will not enlarge or explain because to do so would open a can of worms.

Just to remind you that the private messaging option is available to contact any of our mods should you have a problem.
