A Good Time for an Injury?

Discussion in 'Tottenham Hotspur' started by Spur of the Moment, May 15, 2012.

  1. With the news that both Kaboul (definitely) and both Walker and Parker (possibly) will miss the Euros through injury, it occurred to me that this is one of those rare occasions when I am more than happy to see us picking up a few minor knocks.

A long summer holiday for a few of our overused stalwarts from the past season. Just hope that Bale picks up a nasty cold around the time of the Olympics......

The Beeb are saying Walker will definitely be out injured. No Rio too.

Yeah, I'll be pleased if Walker and Kaboul get a break, if Parker is out too all the better. Hopefully Defoe will go and improve his value and Lennon might benefit from a bit of extra football.

Edit: Apart from that GO ENGLAND :D <ok>

  3. Sorry YV, but I have no interest or hope in the national side. Real shame I know, but the recent years of general mismanagement and also decisions to continue to play the likes of the thug Terry have done it for me.

BBC is reporting Kyle Walker is to miss out. Surely that's a mistake. If there's a chance he will be fit, he's absolutely got to be on that plane, he's been sensational this season.

If Walker doesn't go to the Euros, surely in the Olympic Team then?

...and risk injury, and being knackered by Xmas, why? let Micah Richards have it.

The only thing that worries me about Walker and Parker not going to the Euros would be that they could now be chosen to play in the Olympics. Walker especially, because he would fit the U23 category.

This would be worse than going to the Euros because the Olympics go deep into pre-season and would disrupt us a lot more.

General consensus being let Walker get some more experience with us under his belt, and make the RB position his own for England, ready for the World Cup. Let this one go by sort of thing?

  12. Pretty sure that a) We may have more control over who plays in the Olympics and b) not sure that there are too many players that bothered about competing in it.

Johnson won't be going to the Olympics as he'd take up one of the valuable 3 slots for over age players

I couldn't be bothered to even think of eligibility let alone check it out, who cares as long as our players aren't involved...Spurs first for me.

In Euro 2012, yes. In the Olympic football? Couldn't care less.
