IMO thats how Quinny and Brucie will view our business so far this summer but there is plenty more work to do. We still need to get the last of the deadwood off the books, the likes of Angeleri, Nosworthy, Kilgallon, McCartney and Riveros need to be moved on while the young up and coming players like Ryan Noble, Billy Knott, Louis Liang, Craig Lynch and Jordan Cook all need to go out onloan. Then with regards to incoming players Brucie needs to turn his attentions to the defence, Mensah has gone and needs replacing aswell as Onuoha, as for the left back spot Horsewell said something on the legends tonight that I actually agreed with in that if this time last season in Brucie's mind that Richardson's best position was to be the left back for SAFC then it is unlikely that will of changed. Moving onto the midfield with the iminent arrival of Gardner, Brucie is addressing the need for creativity and goals from midfield with the capture of Sessegnon in the last transfer window and Gardner in this one we still need 2more IMO a central player (Gibson) and a top draw (marquee signing) left winger. Finally upfront, Wickham signed today but IMO we still need a replacement for Bent and hopefully that will be Welbeck on another season long loan deal, Brucie has spoke about using the loan system again rightly or wrongly but I dont think anyone will complain if he comes in for a second loan spell and not forgetting the soon to be signed Ji Dong-Won. Like I said a good start to the transfer market but there is a hell of a lot of work still to be done if I was a betting man I would say the top signings aint arrived yet.
Does anyone think we will spend more on an individual this summer than we have on wickham? I hope so just can't see it. I think we should try and get Bothroyd, Carew or kanoute for free that way we can be smart how we use wickham and these guys have ample experience and goals in them, id then still try and land welbeck on another season loan, id be quite happy with our strike options then. If we are delving into the loan market I wouldn't be opposed to bringing in a young left back (Bertrand?) again we have cover in bardo anton rico if we need to take the heat off a young lad. I'm hoping we bring in an additional cb who turner and bramble have to battle for a start with. £6m bid for jonny evans? with the addition of gardiner in the middle I would be quite happy with our business. if I'm being greedy id love a left winger
No, reckon he will be the most expensive, hope i'm wrong but we have no idea of Bruce's transfer kitty, and it needs to be spread out to buy all the neccesary players..
Morning Poolie, I agree about our forward line I think Gyan/Welbeck(loan)/Whickham/Dong will be it for the start of next season. Obviously Gyan goes off In January but a replacement can be brought in during the January transfer window if needed and hopefully Fraizer will be firing by then. Centre half & the left flank must be addressed now.
