I was just thinking that although we're devoting all of our times on Yakubu/Heskey/Maynard.. maybe we should give up the ghost on them and invest that £5million on a striker from Germany, for example, which IMO is a League where players can adapt into English styles relatively easy. There must be some prolific player in this bracket which would be a better buy and better value for money than the three being touted??

I think the German league is pretty poor tbh. Strikers who have excelled there have often turned out to be a pile of cack, Gomez and Toni for example.

It's easier to buy players who have played in this league because you don't have the issues of them having to settle in a new country, and play at a different tempo. I don't think Sven can afford to take such gambles, hence why he's gone for players who play in England.

I agree with Emilio, we should stick to players from this country

Dzeko came from Wolfsburg where he could not stop scoring, look at him now.

Tbh there ar´nt that many German players/players that have played in germany that do good in England. Huth hit & miss, Hitzelsperber hit & miss, Balack hit & very miss, the MID player from Arsenal (forgot his name), Boateng, Rosicky & so on. Infact I would go as far as saying only Hamann & Klinsmann did very well in England, the rest ??? with the exception of Hargreaves.
