I work in Bridgend and support Swansea. A good mix of Jacks/Blue/Redbirds and always a bit of banter. A bloke in work, who has supported Man City for a few years and some other club before that, bought a Cardiff half-season ticket for a few hundred quid when it looked like you were going up and turned into a supposedly diehard Bluebird overnight. Bit of a joke really because he wasn't very backwards in coming forwards about how he has "always loved the club" and "always followed them" despite not being able to name any players in the squad other than the usual suspects. So he sent an e-mail around this morning claiming glory, giving it all the "We are Premier League bollocks". My boss, who was consulted on that Robin Friday book and is a lifelong Cardiff head had this to say in reply. Yes XXXXXX, well done, we are Cardiff indeed. I bet you’d never thought this day would come when you were shivering on a cold terrace in Rotheram 10 years ago ey? It must be such a relief to have put faith in your local team for years and years, since you were a kid, watch them come through financial obscurity, crap manager after crap manager, useless player after useless player, travelling to ****ty grounds and standing in a rain soaked Grange End (That used to be a stand in Ninian Park, just so you know) on a Tuesday night against ****ing Darlington FC, and come out smiling the other side in the Premier League. It would have been a lot easier to support a Premier League side. You are a real fan, and I salute you. Hungry?
Miggins will your lot be in the Olympic stadium next year ? Hope so as can make a weekend out of that.
