    Now then..

Here's one to get your teeth into, Care companies, do they care or do they just see the pound signs?

We have one that supports us for Lollie, they come in on a morning to give lollie a wash and brush up and then come in on an evening for the same before bed. Sounds simple doesn't it but this outfit are probably the reason why I punch fekkin walls everyday!! Besides the lack of communication being that of smoke signals, lateness and in-competence of levels that could turn you into something the crimewatch audience would love just how are these companies getting away with it?

I have made 3 separate complaints against ours this week, ranging from being up to an hour late to washing and not recognising a thrush problem which arose over night. My point & question being, do any of you other lads and lasses have these companies involved for aged relatives etc & what's the score with your lot if you do..

Ps, for the record, Lollie's only 34, bodies fekked but we are getting there.. <ok>..

I deal with people who have long term care plans and actually provide them aswell, most of them are the ****in pits mate, heard a radio advert the other day about a ms sufferer who was slapped for spilling her cup of tea by a so called carer, solicitors are taking these poor care cases on now looking for compo, cant remember the firm, but if one are doing it, it wont be long before they are all on it.

Care fees are ridiculous imho, if you live north of the border they are free, funded by us south of it, and yes i agree they see the £ signs

I think you're a great bloke mate and truly admire you.

I've spent my whole life avoiding 'real life' which probably makes me a coward.

It's only when I see people like you that I ever let mesel feel bad.

nobody will ,love care and attend to anybody as family does to there own, some of the duties we carry out for our loved ones are at times very difficult for ourselves to do , to do the care work for others is a path i do not think i could do, great admiration and respect to those who do .
Both my parents are gone now and it was a hard slog and very hearbreaking at times ,your wife joe has a good man in you a true partner in life, you make me feel humble and proud of you even though we have or probably will never meet.
raise a glass to you and yours cheers joe

Hey, it's only life smug, we make the choices, we take the juices and perils as is a part of life. My beautiful woman gave birth almost 4 years ago, her body collapsed after that, I'm here for her always will be day and night, I make her laugh, I wind her up, I make her smile each morning, I love her, that's the way it should be..

We are getting married next year, my commitment to make sure she has me for my lifetime to look after her, wipe the tears from her eyes, feed her and tell her everyday, "hey, lollie I love you to bits".. They don't come much better than lollie, a lady in every term of the word..

I have to say, our lass is an angel .......... imagine what I must be like to live with <wah>

I'd just booked my flights for the Newcastle & league cup match and, when the Southampton game was called off, she just said, "Never mind, stay for the Hull game and change your flight."

I deserve it 'cos I'm ****ing mint but she deserves a medal tbh.

The mrs done community care such as yours mate, goin to people's house and assisting, she left because they never gave carers enough time to do what they needed. E.G she may have a half hour care slot at 12 and another at 12.30 then another at 1. She had to drive to all 3 and depending on distance she would always be late you get my point? But the management didn't care she raised her concerns but nothing done. She now works in a care home and there issue is not enough staff to provide quality care needed, so she is now studying to be a nurse as she is sick of seeing people need her help and her hands being tied. The majority of carers do care but the management couldn't give a rats arse

My problem is that when people say, "I'm a straight talker so tell me what you really think," I do.

The reality is that no one really wants to hear the truth <laugh>

Some of these so call 'care homes' are a joke...
My wife's 'Nan' was put in one a while back and the family paid an extortionate amount (IMO) for her to be part of the 'DALE' project....
For those of you who are unaware what this is... DALE stands for Dignity At Life's End.
In return for the 'extortionate' fee... DALE ensures someone is with your loved one 24 hours a day (regardless if they are awake or asleep). They talk to them / read them books etc etc
My father in law couldn't sleep one night and 'popped in' to see her at approx 0230 am.. And not only found her alone BUT lying on the floor awake. He obviously hit the roof and got the authorities / local paper involved.
The carer said 'Nan' had been restless and they were constantly having to move her to get her comfortable. As a result the 'career' decided to put her on the floor to make sure she didn't fall out of bed.
It broke my family's heart.. The fact we thought she was being given the best care available when in reality she was lying in her own p*ss on the floor probably wondering what the hell she had done wrong.
    Absolutely disgusting.

    Love you Nan xx

Ps... Love to Lollie Joe.. Keep her smiling marra!

The thing is smug, I love your 'get in there' attitude and tbh, you do talk a lot of sense and nonsense when the wine takes over. We have shared boards for about 7/8 years now and you always make me smile. We went down similar roads with the crew bit years ago and it is amazing the paths life take. You in heaven, me in hell at the moment but like the old days, you shrug your shoulders and make it better.. It's life, the path, we follow that for love, I love my girl to bits, my ella, my charlotte, danny & katy & whatever gets thrown at me now, it will make me stronger for the next episode.. Personally, I would rather be punching the man that punches horses, working again as a photographer but you could say I am needed elsewhere.. <ok>

I've worked with billionaires, and a few poor millionaires, and they don't have what we have mate, believe me.

'Good friends and your family' might sound like a cliché but it's all there is.

I have half a dozen friends I'd risk my life for and family I'd actually give my life for.

Most of my clients wouldn't call the fire brigade if you were on fire ......... they're worthless empty people.

I've worked for Castlebeck. The standard of care in this country is a disgrace. From the care floor to basic admin. Say no more.

I work in the care industry and without naming it (it can be checked, in the Times I think) they have featured for the last few years as one of the top 25 companies to work for.
They are a Private Health company so money is important to investors/shareholders etc but never any problem spending virtually whatever we want to get what our clients/residents/ service users need. To be fair there is a turnover of personnel but there is also the nucleus of a very good caring staff who are with our vulnerable persons non-stop. The company are relaxed ie, no clocking in or out, your trusted to do what is best, advice and help is always available, if needed. I now work for a lot less (approx £22,000 a year less) but absolutely love what I am doing and have no intention of leaving.

VJ, you sir are a star and hopefully your wonderful lady will get every bit of good luck going to help her to recover as best as possible. Apologies if I didn't explain that line very well but hope you catch my drift

Nicest guy I ever met in my life was 'Dave Boy' Green, one of the best lads I ever boxed too.. He was the chatham tiger but away from the ring he probably was the most dedicated lad in terms of family, devotion the lot..Not in a mood to talk about boxing so I will leave it there..

Anyway, had my share of worthless empty people, a brilliant 1st wife who if I had the sense to realise how lovely she was instead of choosing alcohol, attitude and just being a **** would probably still be together. The 2nd wife was the ultimate **** though with a ****ty family so was glad to get away, my Lollie though is cerebal palsic, realised my dream of having another child and is probably the reason I was put on this planet. If there was ever a way of bottling a love and dedication then give me that bottle please. I have no sex life with Lollie, her body isn't in the state for that but each day I awake, I love that girl more and more. What I have comes from my heart, spirit and every fekkin orifice of my body.. I secretly cry for her most days and pray like hell we will get a break with her but if nothing changes, I will be there for her come what may..

I have a break next weekend smug, to see Peter Gabriel in Manchester and an overnight stay. All I am looking forward for is to hearing him sing 'Red Rain".. a song from my heart. It's a funny world, I have laughed, smiled, rejoiced, seen the good and bad, I'm still here smiling to support the loves & the red n' white and to be able to do that after the last 4 years is worth another 4 years..<ok>..
