A forgotten player.

Fortuna Dusseldorf are considering whether to make an improved bid for up-for-grabs Sunderland winger Charis Mavrias

Mavrias made 14 appearances for German second division side Fortuna in the second half of last season after joining them on loan in January.

There was a £400,000 clause to convert the loan into a permanent switch, but that has now expired.

I was always a bit disappointed that he was never given more of a chance.

Having said that, there's obviously a reason why we hadn't seen more of him!!

 

Bet I'm not, what kind of fan forgets who plays for them? Anyway, looks to have found his level in the German 2nd tier. Taking some shifting, thank god he's a small earner.

 

There have been loads of players that I've thought that about. Makes me wonder if we're not very good at helping players to settle, especially foreign ones.

 

If only he had played a bit more.

Guess we shall never know.

 

His development stalled and never got started again. Doubt we helped.
