Let's run one up and see who salutes it.

I think most know we've some cash left from the Bruce Banner, and there's been a few suggestions on how to spend it.

The concensus seems to be for another banner, so with that in mind, here's a poll to see which one to go with.

Please bear in mind, it's perhaps not an either or decision, as we could perhaps look to collect for the others too.

I voted for Cobb but like the idea of city of culture too, maybe merge the two
'Hull, City of culture, birthplace of football.' and a picture of steptoe

Possibly add, "it's our culture" to the end of this?

I was thinking something along those lines. Ironic that the city which gave birth to the founder of association football has its clubs mad owner trying to remove association football from its name.

Spit in the face of history.

What about "you can shove your hull tigers up your arse"

That's exactly what I thought, wanting to remove AFC, this in a way gets one back.

I voted for this, but if it's the one that's used could the wording be...........HULL the CITY that created ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL

Surely we have to have the word 'City' in there somewhere.

I voted other as I'd like to see a Stuart Elliott banner hanging in the stadium. A true City legend, didn't he do a lot of work in the community too? Cobb-Morley would be good but I fear it could become a stick with which to beat our owners, as we've seen on this thread already.

It's an irony isn't it ? Had Assem not tried to change our clubs name, the image on this flag would certainly have been his own...

And that would be just terrible wouldn't it? You have to feel sorry for them being picked on by the nasty football fans.

If they have a problem with the founder of association football who was from Hull, being honoured with a banner in the stadium, that'd just be another example of their ongoing ****itude. A gift to the people of Hull remember. They love the place and should be as proud as we are of EC Morley.

It would have been nice to have the Bruce banner at WBA! If you have a banner then get it out at every game I say!

It's a good idea, but the more words the smaller they will be and you won't be able to see them unless you're close to the banner

The way i look at it i contributed to the In Bruce We trust banner. This Morley thing is ****ing **** and i want nowt to do with it. Absolute poncey ****.
Money raised to support Steve Bruce and the team now we've gone off at a tangent about a bloke who was born in Hull and ****ed off at 22 and formed the rules down in London. meh

I take your point Chaz. The collection was, without a doubt set up to provide a banner to support Steve Bruce and the players. Such was the desire and generosity to do that, we've not only achieved it, we're in the position of going beyond it.

I can see why you say what you do about the Morley one. All I can really add is, it's a democracy. You could convince people of the worth of the other options. They can change their vote. The other point is, it's not necessarily either or. We could lok to get the others done too.
