I just want to say that its a first for me, I was so pissed off at the Swans on Saturday that I lost my rag! Honestly I have never been angry at the players throughout all the years I have supported the club. I am sorry but I hope the players hold their heads in shame (and I mean all of them), they threw away a game yesterday that could have a bearing on us staying up, they capitulated and fell apart in the last 10 mintes, I honestly felt like tearing up my season ticket! My message for any Swans player reading this, LEARN FROM YOUR ****ING MISTAKES, AND DON'T LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN!
THE PLAYERS DIDN'T BLOW IT, RODGERS DID! SO GET OFF THE BOYS BACK!! BLOODY MANAGERS, THAT'S ALL I GOT TO SAY OK!!!!................................. please log in to view this image
A bit of both but mostly the players in my opinion and something we have been guilty of too often this season. As you have seen against you we like to push high up the pitch and contain the opponents play in and around the half way line if possible but more often than not the players start to play deep and invite teams to come at us. I am not sure if this is under the instructions of PL or just the players lose a little confidence for some reason or even just get a little tired.
As I said in anothet topic Easy to blame the manager lads, isn't it? From where I'm sitting, none of us are managing football clubs. Maybe some of you should apply for the Swans job and get BR sacked if you could do a better job? Brendan is trying to do a job with the players he has at his disposal. He players the best XI we have, but when a player (Dyer) runs, and runs, and runs, one does get tired and that's where injuries occur (44th minute). Do we let them carry on, or do we take them off, give them a break and give the others a run out. Rooney, Aguero, Lampard, Van Persie........They all get substituted when they are 2-0 up with 10 minutes to go. If a team fights back to 2-2, well done to them. We seem to forget we have the same players as last season, bar a few (Championship players though) and we are playing a division higher. A division classed as the fastest in the world. Our guys are bound to tire. It isn't BR's fault that our guys fall asleep thinking the game is won. He brought on another defender to protect a lead, and even that didn't work. Our defense is the issue here, not the manager. Is it BR's fault that we conceded 4 V Man City, 4 V Chelsea, 3 V Norwich? It's not. It's the players on the pitch. End of.
Jager, you should give your season ticket to someone else rather than tear it up - there's plenty out there who would snap it up It's quite possible of course that if Brendan had made no substitutions at all then we would still have shipped two goals (or worse). We'll never know. Wolves had done very little for 80 minutes so McCarthy had to try some new things to turn the game round (i.e. substitutions) Was there any need for Brendan to make substitutions? He would do so if: a) a Swansea player was injured b) a Swansea player was sufficiently tired as to be a liability c) to improve the situation on the pitch for the better by changing formation, for example d) to counteract changes made by the opposition No doubt there are others. If Dyer was injured he should have been replaced at half-time. I didn't see any Swansea player becoming a liability as the game wore on. The substitutions weakened the side rather than strengthening it. It can be difficult for a substitute to suddenly switch on to the pace of a game, mentally as well as physically. Clearly Wolves were going to throw the kitchen sink at us for the last 15 minutes and Brendan probably made his changes to protect the lead. However, on this occasion, it's my opinion that the changes were detrimental and cost us two points.
You don't have to be a manager to be allowed to criticize! Rodgers' substitutions were unnecessary and poor. The players on the pitch then switched off, particularly the defence who were panicking, bunching up and leaving huge gaps - especially for the second goal. So it was a catalogue of errors by both Manager and players. As has been said, let's hope both learn from it!
HTR - throwing Moras into the mix may have caused added confusion as to who was supposed to be doing what in the defence.
The only thing i find strange is at 2 - 0 you are after your first win away. You take off the best or one of the best defensive midfield players at the club. You replace him with the one player we have at the club who can not defend and can not tackle. i just find it a very questionable decision. But in all fairness he doesnt get many wrong. IMO he got this one wrong. Yes there are other players on the field. But why did we put on a player who has not played all season, cant tackle and cant defend. When you are defending a lead.

I think not Ash, me old flower!....................... please log in to view this image PS: I'd be only too pleased to relieve Rodgers of his duties one weekend, and give him a break, keeping the well oiled wheels turning is not as difficult a job as some may think!....................... please log in to view this image
Dragon's half-time team talk: Garry, me old flower, I've got 50 quid on us to win 2-1, so I want you to concede one goal, but not two. Got it?
Jager- i understand where your coming from! i actually turned off the TV when they scored their first goal as i just had an awful feeling what was coming next!! we ve seen it so many times , ive never left a game early or switched off the radio or TV during a swans game in my life ,it was a first for me . I think it is just total frustration at not being able to affect the result in any shape or form , we were so close to getting a massive 3 pts against what i feel will be a relegation rival, and to only end up with a point after doing so well is/was hard to take. We go again next Saturday and i hate to say it but 3pts is a must ! every single game is massive and seeing the likes of Norwich and QPR take points from Liverpool and Chelsea just adds to the frustration of those lost points against Wolves. My own view is that it was a bad management call , people forget that Brenden is also learning his trade as he goes along, i think he is smart enough to realise his mistakes but as the saying goes "you can only p!ss with the c@ck that you got" and we dont have a bench that can really make much difference tactically ,so as much as Brenden thinks fresh legs are needed sometimes the tired ones still do a better job!
I also turned off when the Wolves scored, shouting out as I did so,"it will end 2-2". I wish I didn't have those clairvoyant skills. Brendan looked crestfallen after the game. Clearly he could see the errors of his substitutions, and the magnitude of losing two points. Hindsight,as we all know,is very precise, and had we won 2-0,his substitutions would have been hailed as genius. You are quite right when you say that he is also learning, and it's a tough place to be learning on the job.
The substitutions were very unnecessary. The players on the field were winning the game, and should have been allowed to win the points. I firmly believe that the Dyer substitution is what killed us. Dyer had their left back on a piece of string. It was once Dyer went off that we showed an obvious decline in game control, the left side of Wolves seemed to take a massive boost from this substitution and both their goals came down the left side of the pitch (is that from Routledge not doing the tracking back that Nathan does)? The simple fact is that Nathan and Rangel are our best duo on the pitch, they know each others games inside out and link up seemlessly - as far as I'm concerned if they are fit, they should start and finish every match. Additionally, a very very close source to mine has direct contact with Nathan Dyer and he is very down and annoyed that he is never given a full 90 minutes. The last thing we want to be doing is peeing off our best players! Britton and Gower seemed to hobble off, so maybe they had to be changed - but Nathan should be getting 90 minutes if he is fit. The way it's going, we might see our Player of the Season 2010/11 extremely unsettled come the January transfer window.
Brendan lost us the match jager.....there was no need for any subs as we were cruising with minutes to go.......the fault lies solely with Brendan..
Was Brendan on the pitch playing ? Thought not! The players are solely responsible for not getting a win, they fell apart in the last 10 minutes, the subs who went on train and play for us for ****s sake, they together with the rest of the players cost us 2 points on Saturday !
