A thought for Nicola: It is noble and so regarded both among nations and individuals to keep faith in adversity. Another for Nigel: Any man can win when things go his way; it's the man who overcomes adversity that is the true champion. But these are for us fans: Life is truly known only to those who suffer, lose, endure adversity and stumble from defeat to defeat. Weak minds sink under prosperity as well as adversity; but strong and deep ones have two high tides.
Very good Godders. Though I incline to the more succinct "Chin up. We're British." With apologies to those who aren't. And if things get really bad, "Put the kettle on ma."
I'm actually getting calmer. Was hopeful at start of season, then concerned, now resigned to what will be will be...though don't take that as meaning I'm assuming relegation. I'm resigned to a tough season. We've had bad times before, far worse than now. Think how many teams would love to be struggling in the PL. Time for everyone to stick together and time for Cortese to back NA (not that we've had any signs that he hasn't).
This exactly states my view, and was my reasoning behind the thread "Does it matter which league we are in". We are going to struggle, and I think we may well go down. But so? We'll be stronger for this experience. My only worry is for Nigel. He clearly needs support.
Too right Mr G. If you put the Spurs and WBA games together then we almost went 90 minutes without conceding a goal! Anyway it was good to hear all the support for Nigel, more than anything I just want a win for him.
We must stick together. This is just one season. Hopefully we will turn it round; if we don't, we don't.
