DMc has said we will be watching some player in the euro, so expect henekipopulus from greece, but in all seriousness its nice to see were scouting some foregin players, and it seems the harder there name is to say the better they are

We have won the race to sign Stephen Pearson, and to be honest with the team that was in the race with us (millwall) im surprised he didnt sign with us quicker, So good news there

Some bad news, but then again it could very well be good news, but theres loads of rumors flying round that we have signed Rob Hulse... not the most prolific goal scorer and a few of us aren't impressed with it if its true.. we will have to judge him later on in the season, but my personal opinion is that its a bad signing

    Thoughts?

Rather keep Stead,Hulse is a backward move in my opinion.

Stephen Pearson was rubbish for Derby, but an improvement for us.

Rob Hulse could be the same, we love Stead because we watch him regularly but before he came we all thought he was a journey man.

I think DM knows what he is doing, so will trust him. I believed he could keep us up, and I'm not expecting us to be challenging just yet for promotion (would be nice if it happened) I think he has a long term plan, get the finances sorted, and then start playing our unheard of youth.
Adomah regular player but still young
    Bolasie
    Wilson
    Both part time regulars
    Taylor
    Bryant
    Reid
    Edwards
    Are just some to mention

with Ryan Taylors goal in the last game of the season, I wouldnt mind seeing more of him.

Our main problem last season was not scoring enough goals and I believe if we would have scored more it is likely we would have let in less goals as they cant score if the ball is down their end of the field.

Unfortunately I cant see that many goals coming from either Stead or Pitman who are also both out of contract at the end of the season so it is a case of sign them up for another season or let them go. Hulse is not the player I would want.

The type of player I want is young, determine and has some pace. so might be best to loan a striker in from one of the big clubs, similar to when we bought Lita from Chelsea or when Hull brought in Fraizer Campbell from Man Utd and beat us in the playoffs. I felt sorry for Stead at the end of the season as we started playing the ball behind their defence which was a good thing but Stead isnt the quickest so getting him to sprint after the ball all game was tiring to watch let alone tiring for him.

I think Stead is a terrific player and should remain our number 1 striker,it might just be me but I'm fed up of seeing him play out wide, keep him up front where he can get and use the ball,he will always score goals, the man is a tryer.I also would like to see more of Ryan Taylor and if offered the right price for Pitman (£1m plus) then move him on..

Agreed on Stead. Was a bit petulant by tweeting when not in the team but no-one can argue that the guy was committed and helped save our bacon. I would give him a year extension now with the option of another year subject to performance targets.

I hope the Hulse rumour is just that - we need young hungry players to drive the club forward.

We also need to set our expectations for the upcoming campaign. Survival is paramount and mid table would be a great result. We are a work in progress and it's doubtful that Del can turn us into challengers straight away. The run in last year was really promising and maybe, just maybe, it's a sign of things to come.
