So we have have been lifted by the introduction of messers Hayes, eastmond, Doherty, Hackett etc and perhaps if we had these players from the start we would be enjoying mid table mediocrity. The truth is that we don't really deserve survival. Far too many gutless performances and extremely poor signings / selections from the manager. The loanees have just covered the ever widening cracks for a few weeks. I'm sure many clubs would have felt cheated if we had survived with half a team of loanees and I have some sympathy with that view. I have no confidence in Waddock putting together a better squad next season and no confidence in Hayes turning around our precarious financial position. Look at Yeovil, recently posted £21k profits for last year, whilst we continue to spill £1m per annum and yo-yo between divisions. We aren't really that different in terms of status a a club and I am sure Waddocks wage bill is probably higher. Get rid of the loanees, get rid of swipe card season tickets, get rid of the excessive behind the scenes staffing. Who gives a stuff if we have best stewarding awards or family club of the year plaudits. Just give me back my club, warts and all and also a manager that can get the best out of what we can afford. Sad to say, but I am falling out of love with what is left of our club.
agree. in the summer, the only players i would like to keep are: bull beavon ainsworth in a coaching role bloomfield lewis mccoy basey stewart any of the loanees that will return the rest i really am not fussed about, and i desperatly hope mcnamee ****s off, he is not our worst player but his lack of effort drives me insane waddock should go as well
from the banning orders on fans who go home and away to the way our club is run maybe we should be sponsored by disney
i agree with slasher loan signings only paper over the cracks, waddock made some very bad signings pre season and deserves all the flack he is gonna get from fans that spend their hard earned cash following the club home and away all season.i for one wont be renewing my season ticket next season.
It's a sad day. This was a game we desperately needed to win and were more than capable of winning. We were in with a chance of avoiding relegation with our recent efforts which lifted everyone. And what do they do? Well what didn't they do? They didn't ****ing try. And all those faithful fans who had been lifted and full of hope and optimism were let down by a dismal performance. 4 ****ing nil; humiliated by a team they should have beaten. Try to have a good evening all.
If we lose at home to Oldham on Saturday will there be a demo against the idiot Waddock? I bet he still plays Strevens and not McClure!
I'll still go to games, but it is as much to catch up with mates and have a few beers and footsie has become secondary
A bit too far Jenny. Can't leave the house for that long. But good luck; you're going great guns. Justice being done wouldn't you say?.
Stirring stuff, BlueSlasher. Terribly disappointing for you all today. I'm completely mystified as to why we took Paul Hayes back but I'm not sure he could have radically altered the situation where you're turning in so many Jekyll and Hyde performances - the fault lines in the coaching and preparation for games must be very deep indeed to allow that to happen on such a regular basis. Hope you don't mind me putting my two penn'orth in.
It is very deep Tewkes. I've been amazed at the fight they've been showing lately. But today was the nail in the coffin and, after that, it wouldn't' surprise me if we dropped even lower than we are.
You're more than welcome to comment Tewkes! Truth is Waddock said to the fans "judge me when I have had time to put together my own team" and without the stream of loanees we have had, the squad is hardly fit for league 2. He was given a three year contract (madness at his level) hence why he is still in situ and just hasn't taken us forward at all. I'm sick of seeing virtually a new squad every summer as we sign about 10 new free transfers. It's a bit like the Steve Bruce theory - hopefully if we sign enough a couple might be good!!! Adams Park this year has just been a revolving door and as much as I have enjoyed some of the recent emphatic victories, they are with players that are not ours and that can't be good for the future of our club. We used to be a profitable little club that the fans felt a part of. Players used to mingle with fans in the bar nd there was a sense of belonging. Now we have a sugar daddy owner that has invested in infrastructure and back room staff etc, but the truth is his investment is secure as loan notes and therefore he has the potential to put us in administration if he recalls them because his five year plan for championship football hasnt worked out. We are a laughing stock!
Now that is the $64,000 question!!! As a fan we are relatively powerless and we can certainly be fickle when things don't go our way. I am certain that probably 90% of our support base would be happy with our season if we escaped relegation, but the truth is the loanees have made the difference, not the manager nor the majority of the squad hence my dissatisfaction either way. Hayes knows he is disliked, but the choices we face are as follows: 1/ do everything in our power to force Hayes out, through protest etc and accept the consequences of him recalling his loan notes or selling the club on to the highest bidder 2/ Put up and shut up and hope he continues to support us financially or puts us into a stable position financially 3/ Win the lottery and make the changes through investing yourself!!! Option 1 could see us free fall down the non league ladder, whilst 2 seems unlikely bearing in mind the current losses. Three is a particularly long shot! In summary we seem to be in a "no win" situation
Damn. I've just spent an hour drawing up: Mission statement Aims and Objectives Club structure with initial appointments and job descriptions Strategies and suddenly realised I haven't won the ****ing lottery.
