A totally unexpected 3pts from my point of view, i was hoping for a single point and that was optomistic !! as it turned out the game of football once again proved many of us wrong on so many counts!! myself included. I thought we were deserving winners and our play on the break was frightning at times, we were extremly wastfu;l in front of goal but thankfully it didnt matter in the end even though i had flash backs to wolves last season at the end!1 Some of our regular guys had stinkers by their standards today i thought Leon and rangel were wastful but gary monk and ash williams were very solid, credit to monk for that.Ben davies had his work cut out against ben arfa and he stuck to the task with the best of his ability, i think he will take massive confidence from being up against him for long periods and not getting totally owned, well done ben, nice to see him win a crucial header at the back post at the end of the game too, shows his positional play is getting better. Pablo man of the match for me along with michu! i think we can finally put to bed michu playing up front, the difference when he drops into the hole is immense and i will go as far as saying it was a mistake to play him up front in the last few games, things may have been a bit different?? anyway, if you dont try these things you never know i guess. A really thrilling win and in so many ways it was like a repeat of QPR away earlier this year, the game had a similar feeling to it and if not for wastful finishing might have gone the same way, newcastle will say they had an off day and that maybe true to a degree but it was an absolutly crucial away win for Laudrup and a big confidence booster with Liverpool due in town next week. Im still not convinced with Dyer, seems to be something up with him, not his usual self, tremmel played well and even though i have given him stick for not moving off his line it was nice to see him come out and punch the ball away, it takes so much pressure off the defence when you can do that so well done him. 3 points was indeed needed after seeing Reading beat Everton(i mean seriously, WTF !! how crazy is this league) and Southampton beat QPR (a draw would have been perfect) Villa dropped into the bottom 3 and Wigan lost against fellow relegation strugglers Liverpool what are your thoughts? leon poor by his standards ? michu in the hole not up front ? pablo looking every inch the quality player we saw at valencia? Laudrup spotless tactically again ? itay, what do you think ? 3 massive points and a great performance, well done boys !!
Tainted mate. Think everyone should know that I'm currently sat on a coach outside the ground and some knobheads have bricked the coach and smashed some windows in. What did the police do ? Fcuk All !! What did the knobheads do when we jumped off the coach ? You've guessed it, run away the scumbags that they are. Sorry Norway, back to you mate
Ye great win to good goals could have been 3 as you say norway pablo is tops great 3pts bring on l/pool dyer not his old self monk played well i thought also williams, leon was down on his form i dont think he should have had a yellow card. Great win lads
Suprised about that Dilli, mind you every time we've gone up there in the past we;ve had a loss or draw so the locals aint been so bothered. ****ing morons though, anyway Dilli if someone offered you 3pts at Newcastle and a bricked in coach im sure you would have snapped their arm off..you jack Bastard !!
Actually lauds thinking about it thats probably why Leons game was a bit off, maybe couldnt commit like he normally does and knowing prem referee's any kind of tackle could be seen as another yellow, goes a long way to explaining his game
Sorry to here that Dilli, always though the Geordie lads were always fair, but you can't rule the moron minority. Hope your getting a new coach otherwise it will be a bloody cold journey home.
Nah, the 3pts will keep everyone warm !! im not sure what happens there actually, the bus isnt roadworthy now and is dfangerous to passengers so i guess they will have to change it.
That was a massive three points, I agree with what your saying Norway. My slight frustration was us giving away possession very easy at times, this then putting us under pressure, Leon was guilty of that but still plugged away. Thought Monk and Ash were very good, Ben Davies thought struggled sightly against Ben Arfa, but then came into his own and coped well with him and came out on top. Hernandez is getting better and better some lovely switch play and the ball to Michu top class. Fair play to Tremmel, he made to crucial saves, not really tested, but did what he needed to. I wasn't as nervious this week with him, pity we couldn't keep a clean sheet even though I'd predicted a 2-1 win. Clean sheet next week. Thouroghly deserved three points.
He of little faith!! I had us down for a 2-1 win on the Toon match day thread! He who dares Rodney, he who dares........ please log in to view this image please log in to view this image ............
Im not sure about the striker situation though, i can see what type maybe Laudrup wants but not sure if Itay is the guy or not, he probably deserves another start against Liverpool but i would prefer to go with DG. Its difficult for these boys to force their way in, as we have seen with Pablo, it takes time for some players to find their feet, i get the feeling with pablo that he will take the premier league apart when he fully gets to grips with it, some of his passing is just sublime and the threaded balls and reverse passes just keep the oppo guessing all the way through the game. Dyer as amazing as it sounds is now firmly number 3 IMO. Was indiffernet again today had a great chance early on that he faffed and didnt do much else after that really, not like him at all.
As you say Dill, scumbags. Totally messes up the trip. Hope you get it sorted quickly. On the bright side, you will have a story to tell your grandchildren "When I were lad, I remember the time I went to Newcastle, the Swans outplayed them and the locals bricked our bus on the way home........."
Sorry to hear that Dilli mate, surprised with that up at Toon, suppose every club has their Idiots!.................
I can gladly take abuse for that one Phil.. I thought a point would be a great result, it really has redressedthe balance with wanting those 3pts at Southampton, i didnt fancy us to have a great November as i thought all the games were very difficult, what it does tell me that Laudrup is learning this league very quickly and his selections not only keep the opposition guessing they keep us guessing as well, that can only be good for team moral as everyone feels they are making a contribution. Im so impressed by what Laudrup has done after some key injuries to us. It was the obvious choice to replace Monk today but he kept with him and it paid off, it now means that Chico needs to bring his A game every time he walks onto the field!! Another selection is that of Itay ahead of DG, his movement is very good but he does look for want of a better word, rusty. This team is definatly all michael Laudrups and that is very sweet. I see us making signings in January that will further add Laudrups stamp on things, we are starting to see more consistant performances from the new signings and Pablo is looking absolutly ruthless with his decision making in the final 3rd. We have a bit of guile in that team in a few positions and we have not had that for a while. Yet again we were dangerous at corners and almost lethal on the break, Southampton was a tired performance but i feel alot better after watching that, our defecnce is slowly starting to adjust, my feelings about Ben Davies are still there but the important thing for me is that he is learning and improving from his experiences. All of this we have to give Laudrup credit for, im not going overboard as i think this league has alot of twists to come, i could have done with reading and southampton dropping points today but it doesnt get much better than going to one of the biggest prem clubs and giving them a bloody nose Those red jerseys eh??.. please log in to view this image ............[/QUOTE]
Yeah, but i did also say he needs another start PGF... He did look rusty to me at times but i think i can see what type of striker Laudrup wants up front(apart from one that scores goals) a bit of pace to pull the defenders around will be great for our midfielders to exploit
