    <ok>

    It pretty much sums it up. I do belive there are some real true to life sectarian bigots but the majority of it is brainless arseholes with no real clue as to what they are winding each other up with.

    These arseholes then can't take the moronic "wind up" and respond in the only way they know - with bile/hatred or violence.

    I'd take the "old firm" pish rather than the NI set up anyday!

    I think that one of the real problems we face now is that the majority on both sides have turned their backs on armed struggle and they leave a manic minority struggling for a voice they once had. The majority were never wholeheartedly behind the notion, but by tacit refusal to betray those on their own side they allowed a certain minority to take over events for them.

    Now the most significant parts of that minority in control have realized their separation from their own constituents and taken a new path. Unfortunately what's been left behind are the most rabid, the odd-balls. At one time they could be contained within the structure of the para-military groups that would ensure such people didn't do anything out of line "in the name of the cause".

    They don't have that control anymore. They are just out there, left with a bitter hatred from somewhere in their past or their grandparents past. They are the type that would find a cause to express their hate anyway, but coming from the remnants of this war they find the easiest voice that of sectarianism.

    My worry is, armed with a bitterness that is backed with years of history and with some whispers behind them from those with other purposes, that these people manage to tear apart what bonds have been built and open up wounds just enough to wrench apart a society yet again.

    100% correct IMO.

    This 'Sectarian' war is ****ing bullshit.

    Though, Rebelbhoy seems to think otherwise even though he's spent his 15 years on this planet based in another country. :huh:

    No doubt Dev will back him up as a non-Dom Celtic fan.
