After that appalling first half, getting back to 3 2 and seeing us go up 2 places, albeit on goal difference, gives me hope for the run in! Hughes needs to make the most of the next 2 weeks and get us firing for the whole 90 minutes!!! Diakate coming in will add much needed steel in midfield. We are QPR, say we are QPR!!!!!

Winning the second Half is bittersweet.

Barton & Buzsaky were appalling. This is where we are losing the games and I seriously hope that Diakite can step in to Premier League life and get his foot on the ball and make some tackles. Barton's pass completion rate was dire for a central midfielder - always looking to play a more difficult ball than was needed. Look at Paul Scholes today - a masterclass in controlling the play from midfield. Barton has a lot to learn.

I dont want to be negative, but its hard not to be, and tbh its probably realistic.

We are drawing or losing games we should be winning, and lost today despite being all over them in the second half. We are not picking up points in these crucial run of fixtures, and im afraid its just not good enough.

I watched the game today, and to be 3-0 down is a disgrace. SWP yet again did nothing, Barton nothing, Taarabt tried his best but had no luck, and Zamora unsurprisingly had no service.

Mackie came on and got two good goals - the second was a stunning strike - top corner!

The only positive from today was Mackie, yet another game to pass us by.

Barton was dreadful. Buz just seemed lost.

That midfield was never going to work and for that I blame MH. Derry should have started and given us 60-70 mins of steel in the centre of the park. Barton is playing the same ****e week in and week out. He's got to be dropped!!

Only just seen that it was 3:2. Guys, that is loads better and we're not even in the drop zone! I know we are in dire danger etc etc but this has nevertheless lifted my mood. If we survive, it will be by a gnat's whisker and it will make the celebrations even sweeter. If we drop, we won't feel much worse than we did at half time today.

    I hope Barton but him and SWP seem undropable which is scary. My team for the next game would be;

    --------------------CERNY----------------------

    ONUOHA------FERDINAND----HILL-----TAIWO

    MACKIE------DIAKITE-----BUZSAKY---TAARABT

    --------------ZAMORA------SMITH---------------

Kenny hasnt impressed me one bit recently and tbh he should be saving the first, and making a better attempt at the 2nd seeing as he stepped to his left both times as the ball was struck. I also think Hill will win more headers in the CB department than Hall/Gabbidon. SWP and Barton need dropping. Taarabt was awsome against Wolves from the LW and up front im not really sure, but HH and BZ cant play together there imo.

I'm fed up saying this. You can't play football at any decent level without a DM. As soon as i saw the team today i was very very worried. I'm very sure there are people on this board who can play better than most of our CMs. We have no bite, no aggression, no enforcer in our team. We have nobody who sets the standard week in and week out. We are a very soft touch at the moment. Other teams must be rubbing their hands when they see us coming and setup like we were today.

What game did you lot watch? Barton was our best player before Mackie came on, I know it's not saying much but at least he put some effort in.

    We miss Faurlin badly.

Barton misplaced so many passes yet again, and our midfield was nowhere to be seen at times.

He is not a leader. But I agree, we really do miss Faurlin badly.

Drop Barton? The Twitter server will explode!
He wasn't very sharp today and probably needs the shake up.

    You wouldn't stick with Mackie?

Yep, Mackie on the right in that team - or even put him upfront like he was today. Could swap him for Smith and then put Tarbs on the right, Smith on the left.

Col i'm fed up saying this week in week out. We posted at the same time and i did not see this. Totally agree. Onouha should have started in DM. Who do we think we are going into a must win game with no DM starting. It is asking for trouble. Anybody can see we are a very soft touch in the middle of the field. I would love just 2 minutes in a dark room with our Joey. I am not joey bashing. He was not our worst player today, but he is no leader, no on-field captain, and he does not set the example week in and week out.

as it seems Mackie can't play right wing. if he's on field, he'll have to be FW. put in a great performance today, has Hughes given him some good pointers on how to score??? and re Barton, didn't see first 30min of the game, but the 60min i saw, he was solid, made some really good passes and was it JB who assisted Mackies 2nd goal, not sure (too drunk to remember :emoticon-0110-tongu).

Defeat feels like a defeat to me. 0 points and it's points that are needed now! Sure there were big positives, Mackie, Hall, and smaller ones in Adel and Onouha. But time is running away. Barton ran more than any of our players in stats dominated by Blackburn players, which says a lot about our midfield problem. Don't understand all the criticism of Barton, he had some bad passes especially at the start but improved and he did way more and better than Buz who had a very bad game for me.
