A really enthralling game. End to end, players wanting the ball; and then laying it off
after one or two touches. Good to see the ball being played through the midfield.
A very clear pattern to the play, each player knowing their part in the overall plan.
It was especially good to see the the LB and RB getting down the touchline and
whipping in some excellent crosses. Everyone looked comfortable on the ball, and coped
well with a swirling, strong wind.
In the end a draw was a fair result; neither team deserving to lose

So, having watched the U18s draw 1-1 with Exeter in the morning, off to the Mem. to see the
first team v Chesterfield, with the added bonus of the fragrant Diana lookalike, Charlotte Leslie,
at half-time. Lots of huff and puff, no faulting the effort; just a general lack of composure and
    ball skills.

It is a bit of a tease actually.

Certainly a much improved performance, didn't give much away. Chesterfield only had about two clear chances throughout. Paul Cook and his assistant wouldn't stop moaning at the officials, who tbh didn't have a great game. Plenty of effort from Rovers but not many chances created, hence our only shot on target coming after 90 minutes, following the sending off of Doyle. If you're on a yellow card, why take Santos down from behind? Insane.

    Maybe i saw a different game ?

I totally agree with the commitment, no-one could say they weren't trying hard but there is still no end product, i can honestly say i never thought we would or could score.

As for two clear cut chances well actually there were a few more from where i was sitting in the south stand.

Their striker Doyle tried to be clever and dink when he should have placed it.

Mildenhall saved with his feet and made a great point blank save.

Plus they should have had a stonewall penalty.

If any of them would have went in i really wonder what the comments would have been on this forum.

As for Santo's he was alot better second have but he is far to lightweight and offers nothing in defense due to his size but fingers crossed he will learn.

I am not panicking as i truly believe a 15 goal a year striker is all we need.
