Not a vintage performance, but at least some effort and some pointers to take away.
Firstly young Ake looks a good player, composed, alert, with an eye for attack, and good decision making. Deserves more game time.
Then Paulo Ferriera also showed he can fill in at right back more often. He is definetely good enough to play more often in the right games, giving us some more flexibility to rest others.
Moses looked much more lively, and Oscar also showed some class, as did Hazard naturally enough. Those 3 look the best set up when Mata is out.
Bertrand is also looking more solid to me.
Finally, even Fat Boy managed his subs better.
Not getting carried away, just think we were a tad better.
Slight downers, Ramires has terrible touch and poor passing skills, but boy does he motor on !!! And I have never seen a goalie who kicks as badly as Cech, it's either out on the full or straight to an opponent. That goodness he's such a great stopper !!

Never mind about the game... Can't believe Rafa's attacked Roman and the board and us fans!!!

    Surely he's out tomorrow morning!

We looked about as dangerous as a new born lamb in the first half! I enjoyed the pick up in the second half though! Bring on the Mancs <ok>

CP I was interested to see you mentioned Goalie kick outs I've thought this for a while but last night I noticed it even more, I did wonder at one point if its because we have diddy players but yep its every time.

I thought Ake did really well last night,I was very pleased with his performance, especially as he was a bit on a mystery for me when I saw our line up.

Above all I was glad to see JT out there doing his bit as good as ever. I was not happy during the City game when I saw him on the bench putting his head in his hands at one point in frustration for the team.

Ake had a very good game, looks a real prospects. Very strong and composed for someone so young, kept thinking it was Luiz...and in a good way!!

Torres was woeful, tried but so many bad touches and passes and in the end didn't want to take anyone on.

OK performance, JT looked solid and should start at the weekend.

Ramieres was a weird one, sometimes he was awful but some of the breaks from midfield were top class.

I think the fact they were average opposition and on a bad run themselves helped us as they offered very little in the final third and once we scored it seemed a formality. Much tougher tests to come.
