No 1 - Will people stop saying that ‘little’ Sammy Twiston-Davies is Mr Nicholls stable jockey as when they do I can’t stop chuckling uncontrollably. He only puts the forum’s second favourite Sam double barrelled up when he feels like it and doesn’t let him get anywhere either his top rated staying steeplechaser or his top rated 2 miler hurdler! If that’s the definition of a stable jockey then I’m a Chinaman.

No 2 - Will people stop calling the ‘Cheltenham Gold Cup’ ‘The Gold Cup’ as it annoys the bally ‘eck out of me everytime somebody does. The ‘Cheltenham Gold Cup’ is the ‘Cheltenham Gold Cup’ it is not THE ‘Gold Cup’. That race is run at Royal Ascot in June and the trophy usually presented by Her Majesty, God bless her and save her.

Apart from that everything is cool and everyone should carry on with what they are doing on this mighty fine forum. Just don’t do either of the above again, people. You follow??? Good, good.

Is this going to turn into another rant thread? I remember Famous doing his nut on the old 606, fabulous stuff.

I see you are catering for the visually impaired with your choice of font size Sir Barney - very good <ok>

Here are the ones that get my goat:

    1. "Would of" "should of" "could of". The conditional in the English language is signified by the use of "would have", "should have" and "could have".

    2. The notion that just because someone posted about a horse first on the forum it somehow becomes that person's property and anything the horse subsequently does is with the sole purpose of increasing said person's bragging rights <laugh>

Yeah. To anyone who thinks that ‘little’ Sammy Twiston-Davies is Mr Nicholls stable jockey:
    "More research needed"

Sorry, Oddy, I don’t know what happened re font wise on my initial post on this thread. Cut and pasted it from Word and the font went massive. Have tried to correct it but to no avail.

Nothing wrong with a good rant thread though. I will however, for the time being, limit mine to the original 2. Sort it out, pilgrims.

I love Famous’ comment re McCoy – ‘People who treat Mccoy like some sort of demi god just cause he wins them some money to help lift their pathetic lives for 5 moments if they knew anything about the horse they would see how average he is’. Brilliant.

Oddy your ‘people who use the phrase "as advised"’ was a corker as well. Whenever I hear that I always wonder by whom?!? The butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker?!? The voices in your head?!?

Old boy Famous certainly upset dear old JoJo from RHH, didn’t he!

There were some corkers on here back in the day. Fluber used to crack me up with his love for King Kieren. Shame RV doesn't post anymore either as he was hilarious.

Brings us nicely to the point that Nicholls stable jockey, Sam Twiston-Davies will not be on the yards Gold Cup favourite!

Re Mr Nicholls and his saddle monkeys he does know how to treat a saddle monkey like a saddle monkey. Since Ruby’s departure (and you could say before it if you include the case of Sam Thomas) he does like to do the placing of his saddle monkeys and command ‘you ride that, you ride that and you get your leg over that one’. I doubt if he’ll ever have another relationship with a rider where they have so much ‘power’ in the barn.

I do wonder if ‘little’ Sammy Twiston-Davies is very much a holding appointment until someone better comes along. Mr Nicholls does seem to rate very highly the Bowen boy incidentally. Personally, I’d appoint Bryan Cooper who appears to be one of those very, very, very, very, very rare breed – a jockey, as opposed to a saddle monkey, in the NH sphere. Superb horseman. But then again why would he leave the wealth of Gigginstown where he seems to have a huge input for such a precarious job?!?
