Q1. Is there a recording of the conversation between the Officials - and is it available to the managers of both teams ? Q2. Is the 4th Official allowed to influence / alter a decision by the referee if the ref has made a clear and obvious error ( a-la-VAR ) Steve Evans, in his post match interview, stated that the 4th Official immediately said " No goal - foul on the keeper " - when Sunderland thought they had scored. The linesman had not signaled the offence - and presumably the referee didn't see it - because he seemed to initially treat it as a goal. I know that after some 'while' the referee went to speak to the linesman - and the goal was disallowed...... I expect that the Officials are in direct communication with each other -- so -- did the 4th Official tell the referee something that was missed by the whistle blower and flag wavers ? If he did, is it allowed - is that not interfering ? (( if that is what happened, then I am glad for The Gills -but - )) ......... so why can't we have decisions made by including the testimony of the 4th Official ............this state of affairs does not seem to the norm - when you see so many managers giving the 4th Official so much grief when a 'bad' decision is made.
