"The celebration was my trademark in Japan - it is to show I come from a country that shoots arrows." Tadanari Lee

Any thoughts? I'm bewildered. If it was his trademark in Japan, why would he want to show every one else in Japan, that he came from Japan?

Pretty cool celebration, but surely no explanation would've been better than this one.

Probably a reference to the the Japanese Samurai are they not famous for their archery as much as anything else?

does he not have dual nationality - maybe something to do with this? there were apparently issues when he played for S Korea and they were a little less than compramising with his mixed race origins...

He always used this celebration in Japan...where he is known as the Purple Archer (have to be red and white archer now). It's just a link to his homeland that will be recognized there. I think it's pretty cool...like to see a lot more of it.

He can do/say what he likes as far as I'm concerned. His goal made my day, I don't care if I can't understand him.

Nigel's bit about consistency on the FLS was also pretty baffling and he's supposed to be English.

I don't mind trademark celebrations at all, and Chung's is as good as anybody else's. The one that makes me laugh is Robbie Keane's. He started doing it during the time of celebration backflips, Lua-Lua style, To see him do his little amateurish gymnastic combination before appearing to fire guns makes me giggle. I'm sure he thinks he's being super cool.

Great goal from a player who will only get better and better the more he gets used to the style and speed of the English. His attitude looks spot on to!

Take a bow as in "acknowledge credit", or "bow and arrow"?!

Let's hope we see more of it, has the potential to be as enjoyable as Papa's "dance and pat on the back" celebration, always made me laugh

Hope to see him fire at least 2 arrows every time he plays, like it. Remember Mike Channons arm windmill (swing).

I can't wait until he gets the whole team involved. His Kill Bill style Samuari slaying of his team mates and catwalk celebrations on youtube are hilarious

I'll have you know Waigo's celebration is about the other team being a dead man walking, and his goal has just killed them. That's why he only did the celebration if it was in the last minute or when we were demolishing a team.

If he learns English then maybe he can. Until then the language barrier will prevent it.

If I have to explain my jokes they will be even less humorous than they already were!
