    ...about Cisse.

He scored loads of goals for Freiburg, but they are bottom of the Bundesliga.

To me that suggests that possibly he contributes nothing else other than scoring (similar to Beckford was).

Anyone who has watched him or Freiburg know if this is the case, or if he was just a star in a team of Perch's.

Not meaning to be negative, but its just a nagging feeling I have.

Let me put it this way: would Blackburn fans swap Yakubu for a "team player"?

Goals win games. If he's contributing goals i couldn't care less if he gets back and wins the ball or not.

I know, but in the same way, would we swap a team player (Like Best, or Jonas) for Yakubu. I'm just worried that he won't bring anything else, and so will potentially ruin our team atmosphere and ethic.

Surely that makes it more impressive? Shola could look good at City. It takes a great player to score goals for lesser clubs. Cisse is a goalscorer and we have players like Jonas and Tiote to do the hard work

I would definitely swap Best for Yakubu! And Jonas for Hoillett/ Vukcevic/ Olsen! <laugh>

He also has a good workrate according to those that have seen him play and a Freiburg fan i was talking to on twitter. He'll graft for the team and often played upfront by himself last year and did well up top by himself

As stated Ba scored most of the goals for West Ham before they got relegated.

How does he look? Case closed.

Even if Cisse was just a goalscorer, that's absolutely fine. He's a STRIKER, it's what he's there for. Plus, when you have a striker like Ba in the side who acts a lot like a number 10 at times, you can afford to have a poacher alongside him who will bag plenty of goals.

I'm not going to judge him yet, but he looks to me like he's not an all round beast player like Ba, but he's a ****ing fantastic finisher and his movement is also fantastic. He has good agility, good skill and can win things in the air.

My biggest concern is he isn't capable or suited to the Premier League.

If he is, there shouldn't be any problems.

I couldn't give a **** if he is good at tracking back. I feel exactly the same as Pardew has stated he feels, that we were just missing a finisher at the end of moves - that's what this guy is. If we wanted a team player then we would not have bought a new number 9.

Nagging feeling I have is how negative some people can be when NUFC have pulled off a tremendous signing.

Everyone has to contribute the the team effort and whilst i don't expect him to cover the most ground week in week out I'm sure he'll pull his weight. After the fuss about Ben Arfas work-rate in recent weeks i doubt Pardew will have bought someone that wouldn't put in a half decent shift

I watch the Bundesliga, and whenever i saw Cisse play, i thought he was a cracking player.

He'll score on his debut :)

the whole "team player" label for strikers is absolute bollocks to me.. they are there to score the goals not "work hard and pass the ball well" to then come off the pitch after 90 minutes and only have a clap and a well done for there efforts. goals win games.. winning games = winning leagues/cups.

Cisse WILL score goals... and thats good enough for me
