Players like this idiot should be banned from the game because they bring the game in to major disrepute.

However, having made that statement I congratulate Man City on their title even though I support Utd but must confess I don't like the League winners when they employ similar players to Barton such as Tevez (should be told to head back home and never return to England) and Balotelli (same comments as for Tevez). We don't need these foreigners sullying our game because we have enough home grown idiots. Man City are a premier league case of overseas money dominating what should be a primarily home grown ownership sporting group. Rant over.

Congratulations Man City, over the season you earned the glory.

The first thing that came into my mind was betting. I don't know much
about it but I wonder if there were any bets on Barton getting sent off
    around a certain time!!
I wonder how he'll justify it in one of his philosophical tweets.
    Idiot.

What an utter twat. He has no business being a professional footballer although at least it was that sack of $hit Tevez that he elbowed.

Amazing finish today but it honestly made me sick when the cameras panned to the Arab owners who are using City as nothing more than a toy. They care nothing about our national game's heritage and their like will kill the game in England.

Now now lads don't go off on a foreign ownership rant. Oops that's exactly what I said in my comment, naughty old me and us. The sad thing is it's very true how the shift in ownership emphasis on overseas money has led to what a lot of us think is a downturn in the attitudes of most supporters but even sadder is that these players that think they can act like idiots and retain our respect. NOT!

He's always been a twat, it was on the cards today as he had already said he's been in a bad mood all week.

Apart from that I'm so happy they won the league, great players, good football and entertaining to watch. I must admit I really really hate Man u, their so called 'fans' that like to 'give it all that', I have to work with ****ers like that, can't stand them! I think I've been to old trafford more than them and thats when they were playing city. So a great day for the real people of Manchester.

I remember going to Manchester once and talking to a football fan
at Old Trafford(cricket ground). He said he supported Manchester
City and when I asked him why he said, "Because I live in Manchester!"

Many years ago in the 50's, a Scottish international centre half who played for Rangers, name of Willie Woodburn was suspended "Sine Die" for a series of misdemeanours that I did not know of at the time.
"Sine Die" is Latin and it means indefinitely. It was rarely used as a punishment even then but it usually meant that the player concerned would never be accepted for registration as a League player again.
One must assume that this punishment is still available. If so I consider that the first to be dealt this type of punishment should be the brain dead idiot who's name I refuse to use but who was sent off at Man City today.
What his team mates think of him I do not know! I hope we never has this sort at Ashton Gate.

No doubt about it, Barton is off his t1ts but is he any worse than say a Ballotelli or a Lee Cattermole? We find room in the game for the likes of Lee Hughes and Marlon King amongst others. For misdemeanours on and off the pitch look no further than Mr John Terry, recent England captain, suspended for CL final and court case for racist abuse pending. Bradley Orr and a couple of others did some 'porridge' for violent offences a couple of seasons ago whilst at City, Orr in particular returned to a hero's welcome. The list is endless (Duncan Ferguson, Eric Cantona etc) but you get the point.

I'm not defending Barton, he seems like a grade 1 b€ll€nd.....is he any worse than many others though? Sine Die bans could be dished out like confetti if we were going to be consistent

For someone who claims to be intelligent Barton can be brainless on a consisent basis - today another example of that.
He will be banned for 5 or 6 games (Sine Die reserved fo rthings like chinning a Ref)
Thought Micra Richards did a good job in calming him down

The day when English football rolled over and died! I have no feelings for or against United and hoped they would win today in the battle of team spirit and hard work vs money and mercenaries.

As for the real fans in Manchester I think you'll find both clubs have true mancunians as fans and millions of plastic fans. City have used that excuse for years being the smaller of the two clubs. Not one home grown Manchester lad in the city squad and only one of their academy products = sickening, disgusting and disgraceful!

Yeah, because the team that's spent has never won the league before. Except Chelsea. Then United before that. And probably every other club going back to the seventies.

When Barton went mad I immediately declared that his last game in the Premier League. Seeing his 'tweets' last night all but confirmed it. The unfortunate consquence is that we'll be seeing him in our league, most likely.

Money has again played it's part in the decline of football in this country

Manners and common decency between clubs, their managers and officials have gone out of the window, wages have sky rocketed, and the result is this army of ignorant, snarling, thuggish louts who now populate the game, and who unfortunately these people are rich beyond the comprehension of most of us.

Yes, Joey Barton is a thug, but so are many others who if they weren't on a football pitch would be in jail or running from the law. Aside from those players demonstrating thuggishness, there are rapists, murderers, abusers (physical and racial), con men and all other sorts of delightful characters. And that's aside from the cheats on the pitch !

Despite my dislike of Barton for this latest sorry episode, the player who I detest the most is John Terry who should never play for England again, and I hope above everything else he is found guilty and banged up for the Anton Ferdinand charge.

It's reckoned that Manchester City fined Carlos Tevez around £2m for witholding his services earlier in the season, but to him, it's a drop in the ocean which is my point about the money element.

Aside from the Premiership the rest of English football have to live within their means by the new laws coming in. Why does this not apply to them ?

    Has the world gone mad?

He barely made contact with Tevez, if at all, and the kick, well for ****s sake the guy was rolling round on the floor like he'd been shot.

I'm more angry at the Man City gaylords bringing the game into disripute for crimes against acting.

If you think Barton is a thug you must be a bit of a fairy. Try this **** for size. This goes on weekly at professional rugby league games in Sydney and noone bats an eyelid -

I have no sympathy for Master Barton's antics at Man City. But there has to be something done for someone who clearly cannot control his temper in that way. Its seems pretty clear that players of his disposition can so easily be wound up to react in this way. What did Tevez or Aguerra say to, or of him which caused his mental breakdown. These players are easy targets for deliberate provocation. You must remember Ronaldo's wink when he managed to get Rooney sent off.
Would Man City have got the winning goal if they had been playing against eleven men?
But nothing can be said to support his ridiculous reaction. There's something in the genes perhaps!
