Hello everyone, I doubt many of you know me but I'm usually over on the Liverpool board.

I recently read that you were interested in signing Mitrovic, who come through the ranks at my local club and first footballing love (Partizan Belgrade).

I've been following his career since the first moment he came through the ranks to the present day, and I wanted to share some insight into him, just because I'm bored. When your football reaches the level of corruption and decay that we have in the Balkans, you start living vicariously through the success of your academy players.

To start, he's 20 years old and has played for Partizan Belgrade in Serbia, and RSC Anderlecht in Belgium. A physical striker, he has the physique and strength of someone far beyond his years. As is natural, he's good with the ball in the air, heading, muscling off the ball, etc. I doubt he would have a hard time adjusting to the Prem in that regard.

Other than that, he actually possesses far more to his game than simple physicality. He is (in a footballing sense) intelligent, has excellent positioning, and loves to run into the box. He has a good strong shot and in fact reminds me a lot of Bony (who did fairly well for you, I'd say). He's got a poachers instinct, but isn't reliant on it if he doesn't have to be. He does assist as well as score, and performs well in big games (CL, Europa, league matches).

His negatives include his pace - he's no Walcott or Sterling. However, he isn't too slow either, so with his positioning he often finds himself compensating for that lack of pace in other ways. He's also an idiot off the pitch. He's been criticised for not staying in shape over the summer, having stupid goal celebrations (he makes a V with his fingers and sticks his tongue through it).

Nonetheless, he's massively talented and has a great eye for goal. He's already caught the interest of many clubs and is probably ready for the Prem, IF a team gives him trust and builds a style that he can thrive in. Can Swansea afford to do that at the moment? Is he worth changing a strategy to incorporate him? That's all debatable. He's absolutely got the talent to make it worth it, and he's got the ambition. On his debut for Anderlecht he scored 2 and assisted two, and expressed his disappointment with his performance - saying he could have had more.

This could also be an important question in the future. Is Swansea his level right now? What about in two years? Swansea is a good club with a solid base to build on, but will a talented player of his calibre stick around? It comes down to what the ambitions of your club are, and if you can match them with his. He may not be worth building a team around if he ****s off to Madrid or Bayern (who have been interested in the past) in a few years, leaving the club without a replacement.

Overall, I'd love to see him in the Prem. Not to boast, but 2 years ago I posted a scouting thread on the Liverpool board about another Partizan youngster named Lazar Markovic. He ended up being one of Europe's top youngsters last year and is coming good lately for Liverpool (looks like Rodgers reads not606). Mitrovic has that talent himself. They are radically different, but they received the same Partizan schooling that is renowned around Europe.

Oh, and if you want to, you can merge this with your thread on him already. I just figured some extra information would be appreciated!

Cheers danilo. Sounds exactly like what we need and with The Times saying that Crystal Palace are close to matching our valuation of Gomis let's hope they sign this kid.

I heard (on the radio) the other day that talks with anyone about Mitrovic have been ended until the summer. I quite liked the look of him, but it seems that the club have decided they won't consider letting him leave in this transfer window. We all know money talks and things could change, but it looks like this is all on hold for the moment.

Maybe we could sign him and loan him back for the rest of the season.

Thanks fellas. Sorry just saw these replies.

Don't get me wrong, he's nowhere near City-era Balotelli or Osvaldo. Just young and needs his head sorting. Won't go and hit his girlfriend or assault someone, but might be a bit late for training once or twice a year. That sort of thing. With guidance, he'll iron out those issues. Is Monk a disciplinarian?

Seems like the Belgians have it in for him and he may consider his options elsewhere.
