Most teams outside of the top four have their stars, the ones that the top four tend to cherry-pick and then bench in some sort of feudal lord in-joke about the fact their team and squad is so good they have to make surplus great players give the coach foot-massages and do the gardening...

So, departing from lowly surf status and in a hypothetical two-fingers up gesture at the incestual elitist upper-class of the premier league (who we desperately want to be like <wah>), using players from clubs currently outside the top 7, is it possible to make a team(complete with subs and formations for the die-hards(/Tash)) who could realistically challenge the top 4 next year(if they could theoretically be formed)? Also, which manager outside the top 7 would you want in charge of the 11?

To make things easier, I shall put together a pool of players from the usable clubs so you don't have to, with players you could conceivably pick from. There is no limit with regards picking players from one team, but loans from top seven teams (tossers!) don't count, though loaned players from elsewhere currently at clubs outside the top 7 do. So no Lukaku or Carroll. You know our players already (or should do!), so I haven't listed them.

The more and more I look at this, the more I think this is ridiculous. The problem with uniting stars is that they are given freer roles in their teams and simply putting them in one side would force some of them to compromise... Can anybody actually make a team look good?

Might not be much of a defence but how the attacking football would flow!

I cant see why this thread hasent seen much action, i thought it was a good idea. I thought a good alternative would be build a side that would definately get relegated and then struggle in the championship from established premiership players on decent salaries say over £30,000 a week. Without naming the entire QPR team.

I'd go for. Krul/Mignolet or Begovic in goal (you would be confident with any of those 3). Debuchy, Williams, Shawcross (I struggle at LB so will pick Santon as default), Ben Arfa, Sissoko, Cabaye, Zog, michu and Benteke
