If we could only bring in one player before the window closes at the one player is either Cisse or Johnson, which would you choose? I'm sure everyone would agree these are probably the two best players we've been linked with this summer. For me it's Johnson. I think our midfield is really lacking right now and it is the midfield that concerns me more so than up front. Also, Johnson is just terrific. Also, is Bruce's full name, Steve play-for-nil-nil-draw-you-never-know-we-may-nick-a-goal-and-win Bruce? Canny boring this last day of the transfer window business, isn't it? Hopefully something happens soon. On a scale of '1 to 10', how doom and gloom would you feel should we sign nee'body? 1 being the depths of ultimate despair and 10 being chirpy as a little songbird.
cisse, cos if you can't score goals. your knackered. scale.......9 cos im not expecting anyone else to come in, so if the un-expected was to happen, its a bonus.
If we don't sign Cisse there'd be no point signing Johnson so Cisse (as much as I'd love Johnson, We need a goalscorer much more urgently than a winger!!)
I think the goals would come if we had a team capable of building an attack. rather than just lumping it in the general direction of Gyan. Obviously we won't score goals playing this style, no matter who we had up front. we need to play better football, which is why i think Johnson would be the best bet. That's just my opinon, like. would love PDC to arrive, but that's not going to happen. Don't think Crouch will give us what we need, although at least we'll put Sessegnon in the midfield (as we would if we signed PDC). Even if we bring in crouch, we're still extremely light of attacking talent. God forbid anything should happen to Sessegnon.
Johnson and go for an attacking formation and style of play instead of this sh*t put as many behind the ball as we can, soak up everything they chuck at us then hope they f*ck up at the other end tactic which doesn't appear to be working. Plus Johnson already has the experience of premier football and without doubt has the quality to settle in and bring us on. Cisse does look quality and seems to score for fun but can we afford to take the chance of him needing 5 to 10 games to get his fitness up and get used to the pace of the english game?
