Sexism in professional sport. With all the fuss from the black and homosexual groups, how come womens rights aren't more of an issue in professional sport? There must be one woman somewhere that could compete at a professional level, even if it was as a manager. Except for physio's, I don't know of any in Cricket, rugby, football or any other for that matter.
She's alright though, she's got a nice arse. Now there's a point. Saying she's got a nice arse can be deemed sexist, but it's a compliment, and women saying the male players have nice arses is acceptable.
I saw last year, that the England Women's team were only paid £40 a day while on International duty at the Women's World Cup. Mind you, having seen one of the games...
Every time we come to this sort of topic, this springs to mind
I saw a bit of the Women's FA Cup final a couple of weeks ago. The quality... Whether that is because women are just not as physically capable of playing the game at as high a standard as men, or it is more to do with the way the sport is promoted and taught to the different genders, i'm not sure. But either way, I don't believe that there is a woman talented enough to justify the problems that it would bring for a team (whether it is right or wrong that the problems exist).
Who cares how crap the football is? Let's get them swapping shirts after the game and a shower cam and we'll all be happy!!
Ignoring all the obvious sexist comments and abuse any lass would get, both from fans and players, I've also wondered a few times about this. I've known some female footballers easily better than blokes in decent teams, and Im not sure if there is an actual reason for their exclusion. Theoretically, if you had a female player of sufficient quality, sexist abuse aside, is there any reason why she couldn't play in a professional male team? Would have to have skin as thick as a rhino to ignore the crap they'd get but hypothetically, would it be possible?
No of course not, it's men's football, there is woman's football if they wish to play. You wouldn't get a female tennis player competing in the men's singles, or a female sprinter in the men's 100m. There are gender divides for a reason and football is no different. I'm not saying that woman wouldn't be able to compete, I'm sure there are some that have the skill and strength but that's far from the point, it simply isn't an option.
Ah ok, I wasn't advocating a stance one way or the other, I just wasn't sure if it was possible, and if it was, why it hadn't happened. I mean you get mixed hockey teams.
Why isn't it an option? The reason for gender divides is a difference in ability. If there was no difference in ability, then there would be no reason for the gender divide.
True, but there are so many issues and technicalities that it just would not happen. Everything from players not able to show the same aggression or physicality towards female players right through to every ground in the country requiring 2 dressing rooms per team.
If there was a woman good enough, then someone would probably make it happen - but for as long as there isn't a woman who has real outstanding quality, then as you say, it just wouldn't be worth the hassle.
Yeah I wouldn't rule it out, the gap between men and women in sport is closing, it's only a matter of time before there is a woman good enough to compete. I'm pretty sure there's one already that we can use to replace Paul Mcshane!
I don't think that there is a woman that can compete in the mens game, their physiology(hope thats a word) is different. Its a bit like having a unisex Olympics, would get a bit boring watching the women coming in 1 second later than the men in the 100 metres.
Isn't that sexist? All the arguments were used prior to females getting into more active roles in the military, but solutions were found.
