Ok guys, here's how it is. We lost. We are playing next Saturday - we've had our blip in form, let's draw a blue line (very, very bad choice of colour, but it's Nigel's expression!), and move on. Let's not get too high when we win, and not get too low when we lose. Let's get a victory on Saturday to start a run that includes trouncing those in blue the following week!! COME ON YOU REDS!!!!!!!!!
We've got four more games in December, three of which are at fortress St Marys. If we can win three of them (ideally including at Fratton Park), then everyone can forget about today and we'll almost certainly go into the new year still top.
Not to slate nigel but it's a **** expression. You don't draw a line under any defeat. You learn from ineffective tactics, players, errors etc and improve
Absolutely. We're in a blip - two defeats and an unconvincing win from the last three. We knew this would happen at some point. I like the blue line, Adkins doesn't mean don't learn from defeats, he means don't dwell on them. Unlike some of our fans whose emotions go up and down like a yo-yo!
"Take 5 positives and 1 negative, draw a blue line and move on." Nigel Adkins in a nutshell, and it works for me! By the way, for those of you who don't like the colour blue, think of it this way: we've had a bad experience, and the blue line means that once we've learnt our lessons we don't want to go there again.
it is essential we draw a blue line under it as we can't have doubts from results like these creeping into future performances
It is fortunate the members of this forum are not involved in running our team. They say that winning is partly in the mind and a confidence thing - were that the case and the members of this forum were indeed running the team, our season would be over. I see nothing to be panic about. We were never going to continue the season as we started - we are top of the heap and people will be after us. For now lets focus on opening a 15 point gap on Blackpool (and be honest, who thought we would be talkling about that at the start of the season?). ....and RIP Socrates
