With Saints having a blank weekend, what are my fellow fans up to? Watching the rain tumbling down from above, hiking in the Brecon Beacons (this is great when the weather gets better), walking the dog, getting the garden ready for the new growing season, chopping up wood to get a big fire burning?

I am off to Son Serra beach on Sunday with my friend's two dogs as that is about the only place on the island where the dogs can have a good run off the leash. It takes about an hour and a quarter to get there from Palma. We're likely to take a picnic and then walk for two or three hours.

Ban him for living somewhere warm. Don't worry, fats....you can do Match Day Extra for Tuesday's game.

As for my plans....I may have a shower before midday, then.............. No, that's all I have.

That's just plain mean .............. You could lose pals that way :emoticon-0105-wink:

As for me - I have a charity ukulele gig Friday night (Sarisbury Green Social Club if anyone's interested - gigs don't get much bigger than this!), Saturday pm I'm going to the Art House Café in Southampton (highly recommended) to watch an acoustic/ukulele band called "The Flukes" with my mate Zoot starring on guitar/uke, then in the evening I'm off to see the Pink Floyd Experience at the Point in Eastleigh. So, a musical weekend (apart from Friday evening that is) for me.
Sunday will be a PJ day I think - slobbing and catching up on TV stuff ..................

I thought maybe you will be watching the finals of the Australian Open Fran. Will the usual two suspects run out as Champions again or will there be an almighty upset. If Federer is to get one more GS, this I feel is his best opportunity before the season really starts with the Hard Court stuff in the States and the clay court season. It is a busy year with the Olympics sandwiched somewhere between Wimbledon and Flushing Meadow.

Only watch British players....so my tennis viewing has until recently been somewhat limited. Shame they play in the middle of the night....missed Konta and caught last set of Murray. Looking forward to the ODIs and T20s in South Africa.

I accept elective Brits as well. We are not the only country to do this...the Aussies have a young lad who is English, America had Navratilova...and it happens in other sports as well, Italy had a British long jumper. And as for cricket..... It's who you identify with that counts. And yes, I did recognise that you were teasing :)

Was the Italian/British long jumper a lady who married an Italian - ringing some bells for me that one?

Edit: Yes, Fiona May - thanks google. Married an Italian Pole vaulter.

If you go into the Art House a little early on Saturday (12:00) you can attend a lecture from a group called "The Science Room" - this week's is "How important is DNA?" Normally quite engaging talks, then you can pop down for the uke gig.

If the weather holds it will be a trip to the Gold Coast to enjoy the sun, beach and shouty tourists. Odds are we'll have thunderstorms rolling through by the afternoon so at that point its just a case of settling down and having a few drinks with friends.

Sunday will be chores, shopping, taking the dog for a seemingly endless stroll and mentally preparing for the week ahead......also probably more thunderstorms.

Edit: yup, trouble brewing for us this weekend http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/que...rcell-expected-on-friday-20160127-gmfea8.html

Cheers, Vin. Might well do that - sounds interesting. "How important is DNA?", eh? I can think of a few people who I wish didn't pass their DNA on to others ...... :emoticon-0116-evilg

Tell me about it... which is why making the pub is hit and miss and even worse, next season's season ticket is looking very unlikely as his hockey* becomes more and more involved. :( I may become a plastic.

*just to point out that my son's hockey playing does not make me a Rupert Lowe type. No private school for my kids, however there were a hell of a lot of "posh kids" at his county trials. Someone told me the other day that we must be posh if he plays hockey <yikes>
