Just booked a week away to Malta. I have read and read what I need to do regarding testing for our return. Everyone I speak tells me something different. Does anyone know what tests need to be purchased for return and maybe where from. Someone said that in wales you have to use different test to England, but fly back to Birmingham.

has anyone taken the plunge and been away or know the procedure or where I get the tests. Can’t get my head around it.

by the way Malta is a green country

    Can't help you sorry.

Decided going abroad was such a minefield that I would stay in UK this year.

    Good luck and happy travels!

TLF I can only speak by what I have read on the net which is.

What requirements apply when I arrive in Wales from abroad?
All international arrivals must complete a passenger locator form and have proof of a negative COVID test before travelling to Wales, taken no earlier than three days before the start of their journey. This applies to all passengers over 11 years old, with a potential fine of £500 for those failing to produce this.

Once passengers arrive into the UK, a traffic light system has been introduced to determine any further testing or isolation requirements. Countries are classified as green, amber or red, depending on factors such as coronavirus rates and presence of new disease variants. Exactly what further restrictions apply depend on the classification of the country passengers have arrived from.

Some exemptions apply, such as for people travelling for work purposes or elite sportspeople.

Individual passengers travelling to Wales are responsible for arranging any quarantine periods or tests that are needed, through the CTM booking portal. These must be booked before departure. The requirement to use the CTM portal has been criticised by some, with tests booked through this system costing more than some private tests available to passengers travelling to England.

So many people say so many different things. Can only use certain tests in wales compared to England. But flying into England. I will get there and see if I can get home. The bbc one seems pretty good

My wife flew Bristol-Krakow......Krakow+Bristol last month.

She has had two jabs and had to have proof of this by registering with NHS login.
You had to put details in of your doctor etc including what jabs you have had.
Once completed and sent they review(check) that the details are correct. It may take 2 hours or 24 hours till you receive the reply. If everything is correct and accepted they send you a bar code,I recommend that you download this AND print s copy. These are checked at the airports.
You must fill in the forms, out and back, where you are staying and dates.Airlinre, seat number if known, flight number etc.Locator forms.
All went well on outbound but on return they refused to accept the barcode at Krakow airport and she had to have a test at the airport, cost £50.
When in Poland she had to order and pay online for a day 2 test here in Swansea, cost £89.If a person only has had one jab then you have to have 2 tests.....days 2 and 8.

I hope this of help to you.I have to say I don't know if any of this has changed recently.

    Good luck with it.

Thanks guys think I have it sorted. Nothing to travel other than official proof I have had 2 vaccines, have to order an antigen test prior to leaving that I have to take 2 days before my return. This cost about 30, result emailed to company with photos and then if negative will send you a fit to fly home certificate, then prior to flying have to order a pcr test I take within 2 days of return. This costs 68 pound. No isolating unless symptoms or obviously when test sent away and returns as positive.
Want to do this as I think we may be doing this for years to come as someone is making money out of us. Plus I get to sit in the sun and watch the scores come in, with a beer and in the sunshine.
