I wasn't at the game so please correct me if I'm wrong...but it all just seemed a bit flat today from what I watched. The players didn't seem really fired up and the mentality didn't seem to be to fight tooth and nail for the ball and for the win. Almost seemed incomparable to the last game against Chelsea. Also, I couldn't hear much from the crowd other than the boo's everytime Terry got the ball. Was that this game was actually overshadowed by the off the pitch controversy that preceded it? Or was the whole approach slightly half hearted with the focus being solely on achieving safety in the Premiership? Would those who were at the game agree or was the atmosphere just not portrayed over TV? The intimidating atmosphere just didn't seem to be there...and the players didn't raise their game accordingly. Thoughts?
Very subdued but after all the crap with the bullet etc its not a surprise that other events overshadowed the game..
Not surprised really. Hill, Hall, Mackie, Smith and probably even Buz won't start for us if MH signs the players he wants. So how do you motivate half a team of dead ducks? I'm sure the intensity will get much better, and very soon.
I would agree Kent...it should, therefore, have been a platform for those not 1st choice to impress...which no one did.
