I had booked four tickets for the game against Swansea. One for myself, one for my grandson, who has had sleepless nights in his excitement to see Bristol City for the first time, one for my son in law and one for his dad
. Then came the snow and Bristol airport closed and a text from easy jet stating that the flight from the Isle of Man had been cancelled. We looked around to see if there was any alternative flights to get to the match. Not possible to get to Ashton Gate in time.

So reluctantly had to cancel plane tickets, holiday inns, car hire... each of which took hours to get even a modicum of satisfaction. But when I phoned Ashton Gate, I got through immediately and within 10 minutes had my payment reimbursed. Bristol City didn’t have to reimburse me. It wasn’t the football club fault we couldn’t attend the match. Must say how appreciative I was how Bristol City reacted. Top marks

Nice story Manx. Perhaps you'll get there some other time and enjoy the football down at the Gate. My island is too far even for Easy Jet.

That sounds contrary to a lot of people's experience of the City ticketing office. Great that it worked out for you, hopefully thinks have shaped up a little in recent times.

Yes well done to the club - sorry you could not make it

I've decided not to travel today from where I am on the South Coast - roads would probably be ok, but my other half would just spend 8 hours worrying about me so would be selfish to go

Will spend the afternoon watching Jeff Stelling (don't like the Radio Bristol commentary - we never win when I listen to that)

Well done city , maybe we are improving after all.

Hopefully you can all get to the gate for a later fixture, maybe when we are in the playoffs.
