Hughton demonstrated that the players still had faith in him and still want to play under him.

I had really feared that it would be like Worthy's last game, where he had obviously lost the dressing room. I had even considered asking to borrow a ladder on Tuesday night as well.

So, if the players have faith in him, then perhaps we - the fans should as well.

A stubborn manager would have lost today, Hughton is learning and that is a good thing.

It was a welcome 3 points but a poor game. Our final third game is so frustrating!

Getting towards the Wolf is poor group I'm afraid. Tries I suppose but not looking like scoring.

Indeed Becchio looked lively and is better in the air than Wolf.

Substance over style today and a good three points against a poor Hull side who came looking for the draw.

Agree with Surgeryman - our play in the final third lacks that finesse and had we have had that today we would have won comfortably.

Bradders played well today apart from the odd misplaced pass and I too thought that Becchio looked fired up and wanted to make a contribution. Jonas looked short of match fitness and took a while to suss out what Olsson was doing but you can see his quality - he'll be good for us once he's fully fit.

Relieved we got he result our possession deserved but there is still much more to do.

What did everyone make of Gutierrez's debut and his perceived benefit to the team?

He was very good chasing down back passes and being annoying to Hull.

I think I'd rather see a fit Pilks, but he's a good option to have on the left. Now we can cover injuries and loss of form on both flanks without playing someone out of position.

    we would have murdered them

Considering he was blowing hard in the warm-up he did very well. Took a little time to settle down and drifted inside a few times when Olsson was looking for him to push on down the left but showed some skill and endeavour and will be a good signing for us when he gets fully match-fit. Quality player -liked the look of him and he will be good for us.

Pretty much my view as well, but I think both Jonas and Pilks will improve with match fitness. It's like having 3 new players with Tettey back as well. People underestimate how these injuries have disrupted our season. I know all teams have injuries, but I've never known so many in half a season over the last 40 years or so. Howson, Turner and Bennett still to come!

Sounds like snoddy had a good game I hear, which is good, he's not been great recently and been throwing himself around a bit
Also jonas did well. Shame he can't play against toon

Yes, I think the effort all the players showed yesterday more or less proves that he hasn't lost the dressing room, which many of us seem to be worried might be the case.

Not sure about your conclusion. I'd like to see it happen twice in a row or in situations which are not last-ditch before I get anywhere near to that fence again.

That's a fair comment VC - time will tell, but I'm certainly more hopeful again now.

I don't think CH ever lost the dressing room - look how Snoddy came and embraced him when he scored recently. I would hope that the CH outers shut up for a bit and see what the next couple of games bring!

When everyone is fit he'll keep Becchio company on the bench

His touch, technique are all miles ahead of Becchio, quite clearly. I think he looks like a strike low on confidence though. He has looked virtually guaranteed to score on one occasion in each of the last four games and yet keeps getting unlucky. I'm confident his time will come, I just hope we are able to be patient for it.

When everyone's fit I doubt poor old Becchio will be anywhere near the bench
