So John Ruddy will reach his ton If he runs out on Saturday, We shouldn´t underrate what he´s done In the few years he´s been our way From reserve games, then out on loan He took his chance here when it came, Making the keeper´s spot his own He´s now in the full England frame And carrying on a proud trend Of Canary keepers who´ve played, For the yellows every weekend Then improved up to national grade He´s now established beyond doubt As one of the better up here, So much, that Chelsea had a shout To try to take him off down there But good to see him staying put At twenty-six he is still young, And the more games he can keep shut The sooner he´ll reach the next rung We certainly missed him last year For those months when injury hit, Despite having Bunny M. here He still wasn´t quite the same fit So here´s hoping this is the first Of many more hundreds to come, And this year he´s not again cursed At some stage, before it´s all done. Great post on my hero RBF. I really feel so much more confident with him between the sticks, but Bunn was an inspired signing by CH and improved with time.
No complaints about Bunny, JR, but like you, I think Ruddy spreads calm throughout the defence, which is a a great quality to have. I think Bunn will always be a good number 2.
