I have left it late tonight to respond to that pathetic performance tonight.

The last two games the first 45 minutes was a non event as was Saturday.

Why do they think the 45 minutes in the second half is the time to play.

One thing for sure these guys cannot play 3-5-2 why does SC keep going with it.
Tonight apart from gillett and cunningham the rest were shocking.

Coventry were a different level they wanted it more than our lot.

SC reckons we deserved at least a point what is he on,Coventry were by far the better team.

Why take in players that are not playing, or the ones that have arrived and playing are no better than the ones here.

SC the job in hand looks a lost cause, those players here are not good enough as a team.
To keep them up will be a massive achievement.
It just shows how far this club has fallen over the last four years.

I'm still amazed the linesman had more mud on his kit than JET. I'm fed up with playing with 10 men, if he had Baldock's determination he would be a multi million pound player, he's just lazy and won't fight for the TEAM.

    4-4-2 Saturday please.

And I can't believe people booed Wagstaff playing back to our keeper in the last few minutes, why couldn't people see he could not run let alone kick a ball, he was injured holding his groin in place so he went safe back to our keeper

My second game back, and I totally agree with the original post. Similar situation to Saturday where we had no killer instinct or heart in the first 45 minutes. If we avoid relegation it will be because other teams are far worse, not us being better.

ROD I agree on Wagstaff. Poor bloke had his arm virtually strapped
to his hip. I thought he may have dislocated something. The physio
stayed on the line talking to him. I thought he deserved a cheer
just for not going off. To boo a pass back was pathetic. Which is also
the right word for that first 60 mins. El Abd was so slow it was
unbelievable. Gillett and JET also a#ded nothing. Carry on like that
and we will go down again. SC has really made some poor signings
so far. At least SOD signed players who seemed to have potential. We
are now back to picking up has beens on inflated long term deals.
will the club ever wake up!!

One step forward and 2 steps back

Fed up with us shipping goals for fun home and away

I don't like the guy, but what has Pulis done at Palace ? He comes into a club doomed to relegation and then the very first thing he does is stop them conceding. Any team that can stop the opposition scoring is in with a chance. They win a few dull games home and away and are suddenly away from the danger zone.

Cant see us getting anything at Oldham or Orient or Colchester and with Stevenage winning we could easily be bottom on Saturday.

A golden opportunity blown yet again

SC "stumbles" across a winning team on Saturday then changes it - what the hell for?

It's getting more and more difficult to see us staying up!

That is the 8th consecutive game we've gone behind in and if Cotts can't sort out the defence now and with Oldham, Orient and Sheff Utd away to come and just Tranmere at home this month then we really are doomed to relegation and yet again we'll deserve it for being an unprofessional bunch of losers.

Golden rule - dont concede goals then you've got a chance. We're conceding more now than under O'Dreary and that's worrying !

Only 17 games left to save ourselves, and looking at the fixtures we haven't got a prayer if we keep shooting ourselves in the foot at every opportunity.

Thats three very poor performances on the trot. At Watford Cotterills team quit second half as they did at Brentford.

They are being out played, out skilled, out thought, but the biggest sin for me is the opposition have more EFFORT. The opposing team now have more effort very week.

This 3-5-2 guff isn't working. The players clearly don't haved confidence in it, the fans can see it doesn't work, five in midfield don't keep the ball, change it and ensure the players look like they know what they are doing because at the moment they clearly do not.

We really REALLY wanted max points at home this month. Ok Coventry are beyond us catching them in the league but it was one of the few home games we have this month. Fixtures against bottom teams are now must wins and in all honesty do you really think our lot can cope with the pressure of a relegation six-pointer week after week?............no.......they can't. Unless some kind of miracle happens we are looking at division four next term.

And sorry, but what has AEA brought to the party? All the rave reviews from the gaylords at BHA have so far meant jack.
I give up (again!)...I really do give up :(

It must be obvious to even the positives that we are a bad team that shows no sign of getting better any time this season. Listening to the last 2 matches proves that even the commentators are doubting our existence in this division and at times were mocking what they were witnessing which is about as low as it gets when it comes how sad this lot have been this season.

I can't see SC getting us out of this mess especially when you consider that we appear to have obtained more players that don't come with what is promised on the tin label. To say Bristol City have become more pathetic than under previous managers is starting to become the main topic of conversation on this site and rightly so when you see what has happened at Ashton Gate over the last years, and now we have sunk to an all time low that could even get worse.

Many of us have asked as to why this is happening when you consider we are backed by an astute businessman who for years has backed us with his monies and yet here we are in total disarray becoming more of an embarrassment each and every day. We have become like a runaway train and nobody knows how to apply the brakes, yet lone change it's direction, and the inevitable end to the story is that the train plunges over the cliff. Of course to have a disaster like that you need momentum and that is something we don't have unless you consider backward movement to count in the equation, but then you just go over the cliff in reverse.

I just can't see that our manager has any more ideas as to how to stop this freefall, and to be honest I don't think that any manager hired to do the usual relegation fight for us will ever be able to complete the task due to the increasingly obvious lack of commitment from the board and it's reigning idiots. Harsh and negative words I know but come on how much longer are we expected to hear the dribble such as we should have won when clearly the commentators didn't think we had a chance. The time has come for us to admit that we could be doomed and when you look at our next few games I'm sure most of you can't see many points, if any, coming our way soon.

Have you also noticed that our games in hand have disappeared and now Leyton Orient's game in hand against us could put them back at the top of the division and can you really see them not taking advantage which is something we are incapable of doing? All the signs are starting to look very dark and ominous and I will come out and say that we haven't learnt from the hard lessons from the past because we haven't looked at ourselves in the mirror and said we can't let this happen again - and guess what, we did. How stupid is that?

These players are good enough to stay up. This team was not conceding so many goals and the general performance of players was not falling off a cliff.

Mr Cotterill is turning into a disaster. "I don't know my best midfield", well you exteded the contract of one and brought another in. If midfield is the problem what is El-Abd doing here instead of yet another midfield player!

Mr Cotterill is starting to come across as not knowing what he is doing.

You have to go a long way back to remember when we did have a decent midfield-It has been and still is a problem area. Numerous personnel have been used as well as Managers and yet it is still a problem. For me, its where games are won and lost. Seems to me that we need to put 5 in midfield to combat everyone else's teams 4. Its a bit like starting a game with 10 men then. I am totally stuck for the answer.

No is the answer to your question
That is why a city the size of Bristol has never had a Premiership side, never won a major trophy, loses any decent players it manages to con into coming here, and has average crowds of 15,000 in the Championship. Its why the city cant be arsed to build a proper stadium on waste ground, and why the good, rain sodden people of Somerset and surrounding areas would rather spend their money on Rugby and cricket

Been the story of our season this, happened early on at Coventry and Wolves at the start of the season and is still happening now. It's a game of two halves but for some reason we only ever play for one half.

    VERBATIM

    This rotation excuse is tripe.
Has he dropped the likes of Flint,ElAbd,Cunningham,Jet or Baldock ? NO, because he believes they're his best players (ElAbd <laugh>)
It's in midfield where daft tw*t can't see it and he's getting worse playing Gillett with a Reid or Bryan.
Even worse is bringing in Gillett's clone - W Elliott.

I'll tell him for free the 2 players who must start.
He HAS to play Pack and Elliott or Kelly when fit, without 2 of these sides just go straight through us.
They compete, press, and are good in the air - you can't win football matches if you haven't got the ball.

    FFS Cotterill stop tinkering.

I left the games against Stevenage, Watford (at home), Walsall and MK Dons thinking that we had made a miraculous recovery, after the previous 4 games it seems that we have gone back to our ways under SOD.
