2012/13 we went up in second place with 79 pts from 46 games. This season it's looking like we'll probably finish with 83/84 maybe lower, maybe higher. Is it just bad luck that this season there's 3 teams above us that have averaged nearly 2 pts per game ?
Consistency is the key. Brentford were ****e last night yet had won 5 and drawn 1 of their previous 6 games.
They looked really ****e didn't they? It could easily have been 4 nil at half time and in the second half I thought the ref bailed out their uninterested defence a few times. Not saying he was really bad for us but there was a few really dodgy offsides and soft free kicks given as our strikers threatened to race clear.
I doubt there was ever an easier season to get out of this league than this one, some of the football has been utterly ****e.
I think you're right. The previous 2 promotions where in very average divisions. This years a lot harder and i dont think we'd gone up last year either. Time to fight for it big time this season.
The gap next season will be massive if the standard stays as it is. We will really have to step it up if we don't get promotion. Thing is, the other teams around us set the standard, if we don't meet it we don't go up. We could easily have walked this league had we kept the form we did but we got sloppy, took our foot off the gas and let ourselves down. Time to forget the season that's gone, focus on doing our best in the playoffs and hope for three of our best performances. Big ask, but somewhere deep down I think we all know we are capable. Come on City, lets football. And let's football good.
Great effort from Steve Bruce and the squad. It has taken CL sides to eliminate us from the two domestic cups (on in Quarters (our best ever showing) and one in the last 16). In the League, we are heading into the Play Offs in a good run of form, having recovered from the loss of form last month. There's no reason why we can't go up this season, especially if all the negative arseholes lose their absurd self-importance and get behind the players in the black and amber shirts, even if they don't play in your favourite formation. Special praise to Steve Bruce too, for his patience with his employers and their utter lack of leadership off the field. It's lunacy that he has to be their spokesman and apologist, and that they don't have the balls or common sense to take the heat off him with media duties.
Are you suggesting that I should fall into line with the "SB is a ****, the players are overpaid ****ers, we're rubbish, we should have signed Andre Gray, we should have strolled this league if only we'd recruited Hector Chumpitaz to manage us" brigade? GTF Wembley here we come. Too many ****s finding excuses not to back the team.
