So what were your faves back in the day?

I used to love Paperboy and Bubble Bobble.

Paperboy was class. I loved Donkey Kong and Out Run too. I remember when Double Dragon came out in the late 80's too. That was one of the ones in the arcade there would be a hoard around.

    Space invaders.

I had a mate back when I was at junior school in the late 70's early 80's whose family had a chinese takeaway shop(I think its still going today) I got free curry and chips and unlimited access to the space invaders machine in their shop.
I was still **** at it compared to my mate.
He could also do the rubiks cube in under 30 seconds.

Never been a fan of arcade games. Dont like the idea of them being impossible to complete without pouring your hard earned pocket money into them.
It reminds me though of having this little beauty on the Atari 2600

The Atari 2600 was a belter. That stick man tennis was so addictive. I loved it so much that when Atari brought out their handheld, the Lynx, I bought that too. That had a game called Warbirds which was basically a first person flight/war simulator type game. It was ****ing awesome.

My mam's a complete bitch. When I think about it, I really shouldn't speak to her anymore. She chucked the Atari 2600, Lynx, Gamegear, Gameboys, Nintendo 8 bit, Super NES (16 bit) all in the bin. I left them at hers when I left home but specifically said not to chuck them out. Trashed the whole lot and was completely unrepentant when I addressed the problem. I should probably go round and egg her windows or something.

If I had the space (big garage) and the geld I'd snap up a few of these things like for sure. Mate of mine had some pinball machines in his garage we used to jump at half time a few years back when we were watching the footie, this is one of the ones he had....I can still remember the piratey voice when you're ball went down the gutter.."Ya gets another chance arrrr" <laugh><laugh>

Manic miner and chucky egg on the zx spectrum. Highly addictive.
For early pc shoot em ups you couldn't beat Duke nukem and then quake.
After playing quake with my brother in law for hours I'd go to bed and I'd still be running around the levels in my dreams. Great game play and highly addictive.

The only thing I play these days is Mario kart on the wii, two player with my son. He rarely beats me <cool>

I was a bit like that when I was playing Fallout 3 for hours on end. When outside in the real world, if I walked past a public rubbish bin or a filing cabinet i would momentarily, for a split second, have the urge to search it for bottle caps or ammo.

Back in the early 90's my mam gave all my star wars figures and vehicles (about 100 I would say, probably more) to a home for children with learning difficulties. In hindsight it wasnt a good idea. Recently we drove past and the home had built a swimming pool and tennis court. :emoticon-0143-smirk
