The team who came 23rd (relegated) in the last 10 seasons ended on these amount of points.

12/13 Barnet ended on.............. 51 points.
11/12 Hereford ended on........... 44 points.
10/11 Lincoln ended on.............. 47 points.
09/10 Grimsby ended on............ 44 points.
08/09 Chester ended on............ 37 points.
07/08 Mansfield ended on.......... 42 points.
06/07 Boston ended on.............. 36 points.
05/06 Oxford ended on.............. 49 points.
04/05 Kidderminster ended on... 38 points.
03/04 Carlisle ended on............. 45 points.

4 times out of the last 10 seasons - the amount of points we already have (43) would have been enough to stay up.

QUESTION ONE: How many points do you think is the MINIMUM amount needed to stay up??

The 8 games left are: (4 home and 4 away) We are currently 20th on 43 points with 8 games to go with a game in hand on all 4 teams below us.

Home Vs Morecambe - Sat 29th March....... They are 15th on 48 points.

Away Vs Bury - Tue 1st April....................... They are 19th on 44 points. ** OUR GAME IN HAND**

Away Vs Wimbledon - Sat 5th April............. They are 13th on 48 points.

Home Vs Torquay - Sat 12th April............... They are BOTTOM on 36 points.

Away Vs Portsmouth - Sat 19th April.......... They are 22nd on 42 points.

Home Vs Rochdale - Mon 21st April. ........... They are TOP on 73 points.

Away Vs Wycombe - Sat 26th April............. They are 21st on 42 points.

Home Vs Mansfield - Sat 3rd May............... They are 17th on 47 points.

We have to play 3 of the 4 teams below us and the team immediately above us. These are all 6 pointers. Massive games!

QUESTION TWO: How many points do you think we will get from these games?

QUESTION THREE: So will we stay up or go down?

I wouldn't be surprised if it takes more points to stay up than what it took last season, because League Two is far more competitive than what it was about 5-10 years ago. And the football played is generally of a higher quality.

I think we'll get another 11 points and stay up. I am a bit worried, though because Ward seems to think the confidence is low and it's a bad time for that to be happening.

It is going to be close.

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm sick of these relegation scares every season. It would be great to be around the top for a change. It hasn't happened for years - even when we got promoted we were around the foot of the table for a good part of the season.

In all seriousness though, you will stay up no doubt. You're to big to go down to the conference and you'll pull away in the next 3-4 games. Just a blip you've hit, your players might of got caught up in the late charge for a play off place and forgot you were still actually in a relegation fight. It's Portsmouth I feel sorry for.... FA cup winners not too long ago and now look like they'll go out of the football league, sad really, hoping they survive. Northampton and Torkee to go down.

At least there will be one board out of the seven non league clubs with some activity when you're in the conference, and you might escape the village idiot from Shrewsbury on your board <laugh>
