    It's a very special day over here, and presumably in UK. The Queen and Prince Charles are at Ouistreham (the Caen ferry port) today. Flags everywhere in our local town. For anyone interested there is so much on the internet I wouldn't know where to start.

    Yes it was. Spent all afternoon at Utah Beach (not very far from us). Great scenes and atmosphere. Seeing people placing flowers in the sand was a bit moving.

    Wish we could have gone to Ouistreham but Amanda is too far gone to risk it.

    sounds though you had a very good day Ron - I remember visiting Pegasus Bridge a few years go.

    I see the Queen is still managing to fit the Derby in tomorrow though!

    A war veteran tried to enter France yesterday but was told his passport had expired, his response "you weren't too bothered about checking my passport 70 years ago"
