That whole article smells of bullshit to be honest, Drinkwater is 3rd choice midfielder and i serverly doubt Pearsons been told by the owners to trim the squad down before buying. If the right player became available tomorrow, i have no doubt the owners would provide the funds to Pearson.
If its written by John Percy then I'd wager it's true, he's pretty much nailed on anything midlands wise.
If true, that'll leave a very threadbare and inexperienced midfield behind. Stephen McPhail and Jay Tabb both out of contract, and possible replacements? Also, Christophe Berra has been released by Wolves. I'd have him over Whitbread any day of the week.
I've just been told that Drinkwater isn't on the list of players that have been told they can look for new clubs, but Logan and Konchesky are. The same source has told me we are looking to bring in Greg Cunningham for ~£500k and we are currently in talks with both Jerome Thomas and Sylvain Ebanks-Blake.
Drinkwater was superb for the majority of last season. He tailed off towards the end but Matty James and Andy King really stepped up stopping Drinkwater getting back into the team
It's someone within the club. I'm not gonna say he's 100% accurate, because he's got things wrong before, but he's been right more often than not.
I'd also be pleased with that but you have to remember Cunningham was a Sven signing. I did like him though. I still want us to stick with Konchesky though, I still think he's one of the best LBs in the league.
Konch is a good player imo, if he was on De Laet wages, im sure he wouldn't get as much stick, but is only going to decline from here and if someone outpaces him down the wing, you know that Konch is going to get yellow/red eventually, or even worse give away a stupid peno.
